We love coming here when we are on Big Island. Takeo is great at describing the wines. We bought a bottle of the blush wine. This place does not require tickets...be sure to visit and do a wine tasting. Kamaaina discount if you are local or from the other islands. 6 Oz glass was $6, wine tasting for kamaaina is $15. Be sure to tip.

Definitely worth a visit! Amazing experience, very pleasant and friendly staff. Coming from Europe, very different and special tastes of wines. We stopped for a quick tasing and ended up buying four bottles ☺️

A wonderful place to stop after visiting Volcano National Park!
The staff shares a lot of great information about their wines, and if you enjoy sweeter varieties, you’ll especially love it here. I genuinely liked everything I tried. For the first time, I could actually taste the flavor notes exactly as they were described on the menu😄

My family and I had a great time at volcano winery today! We loved all the wines and teas in the flight sampler, and we all learned so much about the wine making process. Will definitely be back! 🍷

This place was worthwhile to stop during our traverse to Volcanoes National Park. Located not far from the Park, it was easy to incorporate into our itinerary. Their tasting room was simple but featured a nicely arranged and nicely kept area with standing high tables. There were some outside pavilions with tables available as well. Tastings were on a walk-in basis only. We came in toward the end of the day and, hence, it was not too busy. There were a few set tasting regimens available. My wife and I split a tasting and were favorably impressed. Our friendly server added to the pleasant experience. They also had some customizable small charcuterie boards available that allowed us to have a snack with our wine. Overall, this was a nice stop to complement our activities on the Big Island and it satisfied that occasional wine craving that we get.

Absolutely incredible & unique experience! Wines are more to the sweeter side but the whole concept is so special. Possible to order wines to the mainland too.

5 Stars – Fantastic Experience at Volcano Winery

Volcano Winery in Hawaii is an absolute gem and one of the most memorable stops we made during our trip. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing their wines. They took the time to answer questions, explain the different varieties, and were more than willing to let us sample a wide range of wines so we could find our favorites. Their passion for what they do really shows and makes the entire experience that much better.

The wines themselves are excellent—unique, flavorful, and unlike anything you’ll find on the mainland. Whether you prefer traditional grape wines or the more distinctly Hawaiian blends with local fruits and honey, there’s something here for every palate. We especially appreciated the relaxing outdoor seating, which offers a peaceful setting to enjoy a tasting flight while taking in the surrounding greenery and cool Volcano climate. It’s the perfect place to unwind.

Another unexpected bonus was their cigar selection, stored in a well-kept humidor with a variety of quality options. It’s not something you see at every winery, and it added a nice touch for those who enjoy pairing a good cigar with a great wine.

Overall, Volcano Winery delivers a fun, relaxing, and memorable experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Big Island.

I really love that this place exists and what this vineyard/winery is doing. They are experimenting within the constraints of a unique/challenging climate for grapes (and Hawaii county law). A trial and error process that can’t be easy for the bottom line. Come with an open mind - this isn’t Europe or California. I love their integration of local fruits and teas. My only regret is that they were out of estate grown wines as I had wanted to taste the “terroir.” I look forward to following them and see what they can create!

Wife like the wine and tea tasting. Nice venue, very clean and welcoming. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is lack of red wine selection. Definitely worth stopping in!

Volcano Winery was offered as an excursion with our cruise and we enjoyed it immensely! The tour and tasting were top-notch! The only disappointing element is that I couldn't take more wine with me (weight restrictions for flights) but I will definitely be ordering from their website in the future!

Cool experience at this winery. They are putting a hawaiian twist on their wines like adding local fruits and even making a mead with tea in it. The wines lean a bit on the sweet side. Nice atmosphere and the staff were welcoming and knowledgeable.
