After a very long day in the Volcano national park we were starving. The food wasn’t terrible but eatable. It was a nice atmosphere except for the fly here and there. The staff was really nice and just down the rd from our lodging, like a mile. It looks rough from the outside, but once you walk in, it was quite surprising. Very large space.
Looks are deceiving. This place is really good! Hubby had the fettuccine Alfredo and it was very good. Im not generally impressed by most Alfredo and they surprised me in all the right ways. I had the Teriyaki Chicken. I love that finally someone knows how to grill a chicken breast!!! Nice little char on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. Many places way overcook Chicken breast and dry it out. Kudos! I like i coudl pick my own side because I was in the mood for curly...
This place is a local gem! We had the mahi mahi salad with lilikoi vinaigrette, mahi mahi filet sandwich, and the pot-mac salad! You have to try the pot-Mac salad! The vibe is quaint and the floor looks like lava. The service was wonderful and welcoming. And to top it all off, make sure you ask about the daily, homemade desserts…we had the coffee cheesecake! If you visit the NP, this is a great option for lunch!
