Chicken In A Barrel BBQ Wahiawa

I was there 06/15/26 around noon and I ordered a half BBQ chicken sandwich and the bread was beyond stale and hard there was no bbq on there BBQ chicken sandwich which made no sense and I had to put some on myself. I am really disappointed since I'm out here on work and it was recommended but after we ate we all agreed it was definitely not worth the price nor visit. The staff wasn't really friendly except one dude who was behind the building.

I ate here three times this week and had the chicken plate once mini mix plate two times. The chicken is smoked to perfection. I took some leftovers back to my hotel room and it smelled like the I was standing next to the barrels out back for two days. The pork was was ten stars the first time and a little drier the second but still well above average. Beans are not my fav and a little noisy at times with the Hwy out front.

What a treat. Smoked chicken. Pizza. Salads. Just about everything.

The food is delicious every time. I was moved to write this because the staff is great. Whoever is working register tonight was super accommodating. This is my go to spot on exit 8!

The barbecue chicken plate for two was fantastic! The skin was so flavorful and the rice with Mac salad were perfectly mild to balance the chicken. My husband and I were so excited to dig in that I forgot to take a proper picture until we started plating things, so my pictures really don’t do the food justice, but it was excellent!

The best part about Chicken in a Barrel though is the customer service! Klue was really a gem and delivered some of the best customer service I have encountered in a long long time. He greeted me as soon as I walked in, flagged me down after I walked away with my takeout after I forgot a part of my order, and filled some to go cups with bbq sauce for me to take home, all while being incredibly kind. We need more people like you! Mahalo nui loa :)

I am visiting from Puerto Rico with my wife, son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. The pizza dough is flavorful, and the sauce tastes great. The customer service is excellent. A very nice family atmosphere.

I have never been treated the way i was tonight by servers. I went to order a salad and paid for one, then am told they don’t have lettuce after i had already paid. I said it was no issue and just ordered something new which would be cheaper. They said they would give me money back. When i went to look at my new receipt it didn’t look like anything was being refunded, i mentioned it to the server Brianna and she acted like I was accusing her of scamming me. She got very defensive and rude when we were asking about the receipt. My family who is with me, they messed up their whole order, when they said something about that Brianna said well what was it supposed to be and had a terrible attitude. We asked to speak to the manager Jeremy, she went to get him and we saw them talking and laughing for a few minutes, and she came back and said I will just give you the owners number. I have never had a manager refuse to talk to a customer, especially when we see him out in the open. When they did fix my families order that they messed up, the chicken was raw and they were still missing stuff. I have never been brought to tears because of the way a server treated me and my family until now. I would never recommend this place unless you want to be treated like your at a Dicks Last Resort.

Damn good ribs, mac salad, and sweet cornbread. Everything was made to perfection, the BBQ sauce was smokey, sweet, and a little heat - perfect. Chill spot for some excellent food.

I ordered take-out, everything looked fine until I opened the two LARGE coleslaw containers and found they were barely half full.. other than that surprise the food and service were great.

They made 17 sampler plates for us. It was delicious and almost everyone had leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The service was friendly and fast. Chicken in a Barrel never fails to delight a crowd.

Bbq chicken smoked to perfection. My husband and I shared the mini plate with side of baked cornbread. We are not big eaters and it filled us up. We will be returning the next time we pass through Wahiawa. It adjoins pizza place.
