We ate here last night, and unfortunately, it was a really bad experience. The chicken was undercooked—I almost threw up after the first bite. To make things worse, the prices were ridiculously high for the quality of food we got.
Even the sweet potatoes were overcooked. Honestly, it’s just not worth it. I would highly recommend Zippy’s instead. Much better food and overall value. Really disappointed with this place. :(
P.S I decided to to takeout the chicken and cooked it again to my home

On the outside it might not seem like much, but their BBQ food is tender, juicy, and just delicious; especially their 1/4 chicken. With the ammount of food given, it feels like a great value too.

The staff was good, but maybe could have been more friendly.
The place was quite clean and has an open space leading to to exits.
Not too busy on a weekdays night.

Bbq was solid if you’re looking for a quick fix.

One of the best kept secrets on Oahu!! The chicken is flavorful to the bone, and the perfect level of moist. The macaroni salad was some of the best I’ve ever had. And the honey fried cornbread…. You will be thinking of it long after you leave Oahu. Oh- and free parking too!!

I went on 2 occasions the chicken and also the pork were actually greasy and sauces were too sweet. None of the side were any good, but not a bad spot for a beer.

My goodness! This was good, good, good!!! I've been chasing Huli Huli chicken since we stumbled upon it during a day trip to Maui. While this wasn't the same, it was every bit of DELICIOUS. I ordered a half chicken plate with fries and coleslaw slaw and it was more than enough for both me and my husband. The slaw was out of this world. That's a huge compliment considering my grandmother's coleslaw is literally the ONLY one I've ever raved about. It contained cilantro which was new for me and I'm almost certain the binder wasn't all mayo. It was sweet but not so overpowering that it took away from the dish. The entire dish was delightful! Hence, why the cup was half full by the time my husband reminded me I hadn't taken a picture.

The chicken is smoked and bursting with flavor. Its was by far one of the best things we had during our week long stay. 10/10!!! The food outside of Waikiki is soooo much better than on the strip.

I also ordered a Mai Tai.. it was meh 😐 Very weak. The bartender offered toake it over but it wasn't that serious for me. That said, the service here was just as great as the food.

Food was excellent and there’s a great variety of beer and ciders on tap. I’m not a cider drinker, but I enjoyed it and would order this cider again.

Visited 8 pm on Saturday evening. I ordered a Sampler plate to get a bit of everything. Unimpressive is the kindest word I can use. Everything was dry and overcooked except for my fries. The chili is not good. The seasoning, if there is any, is overshadowed by the poor quality of the cooking. Staff was great. Price points would be ok -if- their food were up to snuff. Disappointed. I don’t know if standards in HI are low across the board but finding decent food here is proving difficult, especially in the bbq department. If you’re from Texas, for example, you would abhor this place. This location really needs to revisit its recipes, techniques, and standards. Fly to TX, KC, Nashville, Memphis, or any other number of places that sell BBQ and compare. Hawaiian bbq is its own genre (one that i think is woefully incomparable to these other superior styles of BBQ) but they are not trying to sell Hawaiian bbq, especially with that equally bad L&L across the street.

Really enjoyed my food here. This is the third time I've been to a Chicken in a Barrel location, and it's never disappointed. Fast and great chicken and fries. Good service and nice outdoor seating.

We recently enjoyed a family meal, and the chicken was absolutely delicious. We found it to be a very pleasant experience. However, as the staff is shared with the adjacent pizza establishment, we have observed that the staff's friendliness could be improved. Consequently, I have adjusted the rating accordingly.
