Classic old Hawaii style place. We always get the BBQ cheeseburger and some kind of saimin. Great service, delicious and fresh food. Repeat customers over here.

First time at Shige's... my sis and BIL go often... I live Palolo, But now this is gonna be in the rotation! We had saimin, wonton min, wonton soup and udon, BBQ burgers and beef stick.... 10/10 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

It’s fine. My husband said it was good but both of us said it’s not with us seeking it out from the windward side. I got the curry saimin with dumplings and hubs got wunton mein along with 2 beef skewers, Mac salad, and a grilled cheese for a 4 year old. In my 4 year olds opinion, “this is the best grilled he’s had” and ate the whole thing minus the crust. In my opinion, the dumplings were bland, but the curry broth and noodles had great flavor and texture. My 2 year old loved the curry and noodles. When we got there a little after 5 there was plenty of seating and when we left there was a line about 6 tables deep around 10 after 6. Even after we got there, they were still quite busy with phone orders and walk up to go orders. A small saimin and hamburger seems to be the popular choice by just glancing around and seeing what others have ordered.

The rain did not deter us from going there. The menu items were comparable to other stand I've visited but it was pretty much tastier than most. I would visit again, hopefully when it's not raining and not so crowded.
Love this place! Delicious food, generous portions and reasonable prices. Friendly service and the food always comes out fresh and hot. I had the wonton mein and it was delicious, extra hot mustard for an extra kick. Sides are excellent as well!

Kind of disappointed with its food after hearing how great it was especially after an hour wait standing outside of the restaurant. By the way, the low score was not due to the long wait as the food just wasn’t that good, though it wasn’t terrible either. The cheeseburger was fine, but certainly not close to being the best on the island. The saimin was salty and not all that good. It’s not a bad place, but it’s not a place you want to keep coming back for more or wait an hour for a burger.

Worth the drive and parking challenges. Shige's has consistently good food and friendly service. My personal recommendation is a small sainin and a BBQ Burger (it's teriyaki style sauce, not mainland style). The handmade burger patty has a nice char on the edges and they use soft buns. The saimin is always good too.
A local gem. House made noodles, simple & classic saimin broth. Best cheeseburgers on Island bc they keep it simple. Glizzy’s on point with the toasted buns. Expect a wait because they’re not a fast food chain!

Came on a Wednesday morning and there were so many people. I put my name on a waiting list and waited for about 30 minutes. Place was full locals and tourists. Back then there weren't many people and I could just walk in and sit at the counter. Now the counter is closed due to various boxes that was used for storage. It was quite upsetting. When I finally got my seat I was able to place my order immediately. A wonton min and a cheeseburger with a coke zero. I overheard one of the servers tell another table that their credit card machine was broken and they only took cash. I was upset because that's something you want customers to know when they're waiting outside in the sun for 30 minutes. I asked another server to confirm, so I had to walk about 10 minutes to go across the street to withdraw cash. That lack of communication is so inconvenient and can cause customers to not be able to pay. By the time I got back, my food was already sitting there. It got a little cold, but I was already upset with having to walk to an Atm so I just ate. The food was decent. You can tell the noodles were hand made compared to other restaurants. Chewy. Broth has a light shrimp flavor that tasted like other saimin on island. The burger was okay, but tasted similar to others I've tried. It reminds me of Japanese hamburger steak which is a mix of beef, pork, and panko bread crumbs. Overall, decent meal but not worth a 30 minute wait outside and a walk to a gas station ATM. On a different note, some of the customers here can be very inconsiderate. There is a long line of people outside wanting to grab a meal. I see a couple of elderly people talking for what felt like over an hour and they already paid for their meal. I see another couple who already paid and are just lounging while on their phone. So disrespectful when this is supposed to be a respectful local restaurant.
