I would give the food 6 stars if I could. It was SHOCKINGLY good. My wife and I both had the breakfast pork tacos, and they were perfect. If you’re in the area and looking for food, stop here. The atmosphere is also old North Shore which is super nice.

We chose this restaurant based on the 4 star reviews. We struggled to find it using Maps - it is not very obvious or inviting from the outside. The dining area is outside but covered. The girl that took our order was indifferent and a bit impatient. The table we sat at was dirty. The prices were ok - we shared a plate that was $21 which in Hawaii is typical. The food, however, was very good. It needed a little salt
But overall was tasty. The chicken, pork and ribs were all seasoned well and other than the ribs it was tender. Overall I didn’t regret the choice.

We love the smoking boar and coconut. We have been going since they first opened. Everything is so fresh and it’s very authentic true hawaii food.

I didn’t enjoy the food I ordered, but the people I was with enjoyed some of the food they ordered. The restaurant had a cool ambiance and outdoor seating, as well as a variety of books to read. I’m wondering if it was an off day, because other reviewers seem to have really enjoyed the food. I ordered the kalbi short ribs and spam musubi. The spam musubi didn’t have any sauce, it seemed to be dry fried spam on top of the rice. The short ribs were almost all charred fairly heavily, didn’t have a great flavor, and didn’t have a lot of meat on them. The teriyaki sauce was $1, and had a very strong, salty and tangy taste. The rice was cooked well, and the mac salad had a mild taste. The people I went with said the pork just tasted like a shredded pork chop, but the gravy was good and the chicken was good. They didn’t enjoy the short ribs either.

If you have any allergies, you should stay away from this place. The menu gives only a general idea of the ingredients, and staff is not knowledgeable. At all. My friends like this place, and we have visited it together three times. Unfortunately, all three times, the service was a total fail.

This place is a hidden gem. I’ve been living on Oahu for a year and a half, and this is some of the best food I’ve eaten during my time here. I tried both the roast pork with gravy and the California poke bowl. Both were amazing, but the roast pork is to die for! It was so tender, moist, and cooked to perfection. You can tell the food here is made with love. This is a covered area, which is good if it’s raining, but there is only outdoor seating available. Aesthetically, this is very different than a typical restaurant, but I loved how it brought a “homey” feel to this place. There is also a glass counter with baked goods in the front. I tried the guava cheese danish and it was so delicious. They have really good coffee, as well. I would recommend this place to anyone, and I will definitely be coming back! Probably on a weekly/bi-weekly basis! Mahalo!! ❤️🤙🏼

Roadside - cool looking. Thankfully never packed. Had a great vibe. The food and drinks are incredible - fresh and innovative and the service is quietly efficient.
