Lex was awesome! So helpful and attentive. Food was some of the best I’ve had on the BI and I’ve spent about 3 1/2 months of my life here on vacation. Fresh catch tacos were delicious and the Mochiko chicken appetizer was sweet, savory and crispy.

Excellent miso Caesar salad, Mai tai (the rum is strong!), mochiko chicken (I asked for rice and sriracha with it), and vanilla rum cake!

I ordered their pork nachos as my lunch and they were delicious. Service was great and very helpful. Nice comfortable atmosphere. Kid friendly too!

I would NOT recommend this place for people who have children with developmental disabilities or who are neurodivergent. My younger sister (who at the time of writing this is 15) has autism and does not eat lots of different foods, so we had asked for a kids meal for her and our server said that they were not able/willing to give her the food and then made a fuss about us ordering of the kids meal because she is not 12. We told her that it’s not a matter of the money, but the fact that my younger sister cannot eat lots of different foods due to her having autism and many food sensitivity, and we had to explain that to her in detail, which should never have to happen because what happens in our life doesn’t need to be explained to a waitress at a restaurant. The experience was ruined because of this interaction and not only did she give us a hard time when we first ordered, but she came back and said, and I quote “ we’ll just let it slide this one time, but this usually doesn’t happen”. Again, I do NOT recommend this establishment and I hope that they give their employee’s some sensitivity training for people who have developmental disabilities or who are neurodivergent. 0/10 never coming back.

I will not return to the Kuleana Rum Shack. The service was extremely slow, even though the restaurant was not busy. We were seated right away, but drinks took at least 15 minutes after ordering to be delivered.

The final bill had multiple mistakes on it. The kids meal was charged as a full adult meal. We were charged for a drink that none of us ordered.

The waitress tried to provide drink recommendations, but the drink that arrived was pretty but not good. Do not come for food and beverages. We did not have the rum tasting, but I’m sure the quality is low like everything else.

Came for the Rum - stayed for the food - left fullfilled. It's not a wonder why this is the best Rum on the planet. And the food? *Chef's Kiss* Amazing. I had the upscale Loco Moco and left the plate as clean as the sip of Huihui. #IYKYK

Great service. Very attentive staff from front desk staff Eric to our server Tiana. Very tasty food and this place is busy for a reason. Tiana took her time explaining all our questions. Thanks a lot Tiana.

This post is a few months late, but I wanted to take the time to thank the staff that was able to make our wedding rehearsal dinner on March 5th for 25 amazing. Shout out to the manager (I'm so terrible that I forgot his name!) for going above and beyond. Everyone left happy and loved their food and service. We even came back with a smaller group a couple of days later.
