We try to make it to Matteo's any time we are on Maui. It's a bit pricey, but the food and service is always spot on. Even though we usually stay near Ka'anapali we make the drive to Matteo's.

What an awesome place, the food was excellent, and the service was extraordinary. The server, Keiani, was amazing she made incredible suggestions, was very friendly and engaging. Most of all she very, very efficient. The busboy should be mentioned; he was also efficient and worked very hard at doing he assigned tasks. The receptionists and hostesses very friendly and professional. It was such a great place were going back next week. Thanks to you all.

Food and service were meh, which is something that shouldn't be said about a restaurant where a pasta dish is $35. I appreciate the menu having vegan options that are clearly marked VV for vegan or VVR for vegan upon request. Our waiter seemed to be ignoring us quite a bit and prioritizing the tables outside. They'd also make some one-off comments while ordering, which came across very snarky. One being: "You think people would catch onto the questions I ask and not have me need to repeat myself" when ordering teas and getting asked if we needed sugar. Very condescending. I got the Arrabiatta, and it was okay. Was it good? Yes. Was it good for $35? No. I've had much better vegan fine dining food and would not return for myself. Someone else in my party got the arrabiatta as well and said it was bland; I'd have to agree. I understand it's a simple dish to prepare, but it was quite bland. It didn't taste like fresh pasta or freshly crushed tomatoes. There was nothing special about it at all to justify the price point. It's a meal I can easily recreate at home for a fraction of the cost in probably 10 minutes. The focaccia (which is vegan) they brought to the table was good in flavor, but it was cold and should've been served warm. My review is teetering on a 1 star, but it wasn't bad enough for me to rate it 1. My non-veg family members really liked their food, so that's a plus, I guess. Family members said the non-vegan deserts were pretty bad. An Italian restaurant that has a bad, crumbly, dry, and bland tiramisu is quite telling...

The pasta was so-so and the so-called prized turkey meatballs were not good. I had them add cheese oi top oi my pasta just to give it more depth but that along with two meatballs and a bland regular penne was $50. I make way better pasta so my bar is already high but this was very disappointing. I won't be going back anytime soon as I expect a place that specializes in Italian food should pull off a spicey penne without a hitch.

My wife and I took my mom in law for her birthday. The drinks were excellent and the server was very attentive. The food was outstanding and we would definitely recommend this restaurant. If you are in Maui I definitely recommend stopping by this restaurant.

My friend and I joined you for dinner last night our wonderful waiter Pedro and his assistant Joshua were excellent. The balance of attentiveness yet left us to enjoy our meal. Our meal was timed perfectly. The food was delicious and as always, we love Mateo's and will be back soon.

For us this is a must when coming to Maui. We enjoyed dining here twice this trip. Both times we had the pleasure of having Michael as our server. He is attentive, friendly and helped with dinner recommendations. Last night was Carbonara and Lasagna. Both were delicious. Their flat bread appetizer is great as well.

Service was good. When we asked if the pasta could be cooked al a dente we were advised it done by timer. We ordered 2 different specials and both pastas that were part of this meal were overcooked and acutally mushy. The Carbonara on the hand was great.

Beautiful place with amazing service! In all honesty I think this may have been the best Italian I've ever had. Not only were the adults impressed but the kids haven't stopped asking to go back. Unfortunately we live in Florida so they will have to wait until next year! lol

Very good food and excellent service. I had the bruschetta which was spectacular. Then the special, chicken parm. The waiter suggested a fab wine and overall service and ambiance was great.

Matteo's was recommended to us and unfortunately not a good food experience. Waiter/Manager was nice, but the food for both of us was not. My friend did not care for the lasagna and the bigger deal was my Arrabbiata pasta. Arrabbiata is a favorite sauce of mine and have had it at numerous locations internationally. Matteo's was almost impossible to eat due to extensive/overkill of spice. The waiter noticed and brought me another sauce to mix in, which help, but drowned the pasta. At the end the Waiter asked my opinion, and he could tell I was disappointed. His response, hmmm? perhaps an off night for the chef and said further that many people order the same pasta so I will see if anyone else has same reaction...... Huh? Perhaps it was an "Off" night but geez, at least buy us a dessert or reimburse the pasta. So, since my friends lasagna was fair, I give this experience a D.
