We had a delicious dinner at Matteo's consisting of caprese with prosciutto, pasta, and gelato. It turned out to be 1/2 price wine night on bottles so we decided to take advantage of that nice surprise. When we got the bill, we saw an automatic 20% tip was added (party of 2) to the non-discounted price of dinner which I found odd. First selecting the tip amount for us and then doing it on the full bottle price meal amount. It left us with a not so great feeling after the yummy food...

This should have been a 5 star review.. but Our server Tao was horrible! Arrogant, condescending and most of all a poor excuse for a server in an establishment this caliber. My family of 5 went there while on vacation and everything we ordered was terrific! Caprese and flat bread appetizers and entrees on Chicken Parm Bolonese and maybe the best Carbonara I've ever eaten. We would liked to have tried dessert but our crappie server dropped off the menu but never returned to take the order so we asked for a check and left. I do want to commend the servers assistant he was friendly and always checked on us. Management needs to do something about Tao he is a disgrace to their restaurant.

Oh, the food. Some of the best on the island. I usually have the lasagna (probably the best I've had - besides my wife's!) but this night I chose the Special: Chicken Parmigiana. Piping hot, lightly breaded, so tender you almost didn't need a knife, and certainly large enough for two, I mean gigantic. The pasta was fresh and cooked al dente, perfectly. My wife chose the Squid Ink Pasta with Seafood - beyond incredible, says she. And ... the service. Always ask for Michael. We watched him serve half the room, greeting many by name (including us), gliding easily to every table, always with a smile and a caring touch. Problem? Not for Michael. He knows immediately how to resolve any issue, leaving a customer satisfied and more than happy, not an easy task in any restaurant. He's the best. Everything on the menu is fairly priced and a great value for a high quality dinner. Make reservations in advance, seats fill quickly every night.

This restaurant is OUTSTANDING!!! We view this as the best restaurant in Wailea!!! I had the Onaga (snapper) and my wife had the seafood ravioli --- both were excellent!!! Service as always was outstanding. Highly recommend you try this restaurant.

Food was, as always, fantastic! We LOVE our server(Kiani) who really knows her business plus makes you feel at home/welcomed/valued! All the ancillary servers are also friendly and proficient in what they do. We always recommend this restaurant as it is our favorite in all of Maui...a true gem :)

The food is outstanding especially if your order chef specials. Tallegiate Ragu with pesto sauce. The Ahi tuna was excellent with fresh green beans. Cesar salad with anchovies another hit. Chefs appetizer was hamachi crudeo with truffle oil. WOW. The service was a bit slow. The place was packed so take that into consideration. High energy and noisy. Not cheap but it's Maui. Definitely a well worth venue. Our third visit. We'll be back.
