Found Kais kitchen at the Sunday market in Kahului. They were serving Thai food at this time and decided to take a chance on it. I ordered their fried rice, beef salad Thai style, pad Thai and spring rolls. Everything was fantastic. Great Thai food and really fresh vegetables in everything. Looks like they use lots of local vegetables. Excellent fresh food.

What an awesome foodtruck! It was one of the best curries I ever had. It is a really low-key place,and what a great surprise! The coconut milk used in the curry is homemade by the chef, and you really taste that freshness in those awesome curries! Can only recommend this great foodtruck!

We watch the food truck shows on The Food Network, and this one looked familiar. We had just finished lunch at the cafe across the street, but talked to the owner and bought a coffee. So many places to eat, and so little time!

it's been a long time since I wrote a post, so here goes nothing... In our quest to try new food trucks, a co-worker and I decided to tryout Kai's kitchen. This food truck is located under the banyan tree, on the corner of Vineyard and Market St. My roast pork was delish! The pork was tender and not at all dry. White gravy isn't usually my thing, but this gravy was thick with lots of flavor. All this goodness was smothering a healthy serving of rice (long grain). The Mac salad was, umm... different? I don't have the words to describe the flavor. Maybe bland would be the closest description. Oh and dry. My coworker did not care for the beef stew. She thinks it was overcooked because instead of potatoes, there were only potato skins. And there were big chunks of fat throughout. (She's kind of a beef stew snob lol.) The flavor was bland (maybe due to the potatoes melting away). We were given a bowl of fresh taro chips to munch on while we waited. Thin and crispy with a little bit of salt...so yummy. Overall, I think some of the dishes need a little tweaking. But I believe there is potential for this truck to do well in that location.
