THE OWNER OF THE BAR IS A ASIAN WOMAN… WHO DISCRIMINATED ME AND MY FRIEND FOR SINGING KARAOKE AND SHE SAID” I DONT LIKE YOU ONLY COME FOR KARAOKE AND NOT DRINKING I DONT MAKE ANY MONEY… OFF OF WATER AND DOLLAR SONGS … YOU HAVE TO LEAVE” ….

On November 2 around 11 pm-Midnight my friend and I went into rays deli in ****** to enjoy our night singing and eating etc. But the kitchen was closed so we just wanted water for the moment and sing until we were ready to order alcohol. The Owner of rays did approach us when we were singing saying something to us, but we could not hear her at that time. After we was done singing she came to our table with our three dollar something tab saying that we had to leave the bar, and go somewhere else because she isn't making money with us with just water and singing. My friend and I was shocked when she said that because we weren't doing anything wrong or causing any trouble or scenes to make her do that. So my friend told her that we were going to buy alcohol and the owner told her No because the Owner was assuming my friend was drunk when she wasn't and so the owner denied us of buying alcohol because of her assumption/accusation of my friend. To the point I told her that's discrimination towards us because we were just singing, both of us calm, minding our own business with just water and eventually was going to order alcohol.. I was livid for a business to kick us out and tell us to go somewhere else because she said She wasn't making money with us for not ordering alcohol right then and there and then deny serving us alcohol because of her assumption/accusation.. Like Make that Make Sense and which One is it..I never been in business/Bar/ karoake who kicked people out for just singing and having water and listening to other people sing.. My friend and I are both local people born and raised here on **** and this was the first time I ever experienced this and now I won't be going back to Rays because of this situation and I will be telling others about my experience at this bar and FYI I don't drink much either

The food was amazing, I recommend the kimchi stew and house steak it was phenomenal. Jarrin was our server and provided excellent service. Come down and check out Ray's, I highly recommend. FYI the food is so excellent that you may need a gurney to roll you outta here.

My husband and I had flight delays and due to the inconvenience, we arrived past 9pm to Maui. After picking up our rental and looking for the nearest opened dinner restaurant, Google recommended Rey’s Deli. My husband and I were not disappointed. The son of the owner attended us right away. We ordered a shrimp stir fry dinner and the chicken katsu. His mom was such a sweet lady and asked how hot we wanted the shrimp stir fry. We like extra spicy food and she made sure we were satisfied with the spicy level. The chicken was crispy and addictive as well. We will definitely return as these owners made us feel like home and were very generous and patient with us.

My favorite bar. You see the same bunch of nice uncles that sing karaoke. I can go here and not worry. and owner sandy is a sweet heart. Food is ono. Spam sandwich is a must-try. I would suggest locals only... not tourist allowed lol. This is for safety, I promise I'm not racist.

Rays is the neighborhood bar. Always nice to go in and run into friends.

Came here late while out with a friend who lives in the area. The lot is a nice size so parking was easy. When we entered, there was karaoke and everyone had really nice voices. It was a good vibe. We sat at the bar. My friend is a regular so he knew the bartender. She was super sweet. I was starving and seeing other people eat so I ordered some Chicken Katsu. My friend said it was the most tender chicken katsu that he had ever had on the island.I was very pleased and would definitely go back.

Rays is the place to be if you just want to relax and have a few drinks and amazing pupus or even dinner after a long day at work or maybe a night out with your friends . I went in on a Sunday night with a few of my girls... We had an amazing time . the owner Sandy ... Was the sweetest & her food is the BOMB.COM ... Hoku was our bartender and I have to say , her drinks were ON POINT !!! She made us feel so at home and if we needed anything we knew she had our backs . We also found out later in the night when the karaoke system came on that Hoku also has a lovely singing voice . But all together rays is hands down definitely a go to on any occasion.

Called in about takeout and was told we could still order anything from the menu. I ordered a fried chicken dinner plate for $16 which is supposed to include 4 pieces of fried chicken as stated in print on the menu. I received a plate with 4 pieces tiny chicken wings as a result. They have chicken wings in the pupu menu for $14 which includes 7 pieces chicken wings as stated in the menu. If I wanted chicken wings, I would've ordered it from the pupu menu. I paid more for the dinner plate and received less than what is offered as pupus, aside from the fact that I didn't even get what I actually ordered. Thanks cook!

Great place that some of the locals go to have an after work drink and pupus. Not too crowded in the afternoon and early evening, but it can be fairly crowded later. When Loke is in the kitchen, the food is fabulous. She makes great local kind of grinds which definitely is a hit!
