Easy going restaurant that has a nice atmosphere. My daughter and I enjoyed it, will definitely come back just for the miso!

Make sure if you're paying with a card you fill in the tip area I ordered online and my order came to 85.88 but when I went in it was 122.20 I was going to add a tip but they said don't worry which I figured ok that's why it was 122 bit 85 but then they charged my card 155 I would've been ok with that but to top it off the food was garbage I wouldn't eat there again.

It's hidden on the lower floor of a strip mall/business center. They have lunch specials that gives you a good value for the amount of food you order. They are known for their tempura and it was crispy. However, the batter for the shrimp one was a little too thick. The veggies were crispy but some of them needs to be drained a little longer. The pieces of veg tempura was eating too greasy and oily. Kalbi was a little fatty and mushy rice. Miso soup was a nice start and seasoned well. Service was attentive and friendly.

Tempura is incredible- light and crunchy, most importantly not greasy either. Not sure what they cook it in but very tasty. The bento box lunch things are large and filling, I’ll definitely come back!

My favorite restaurant for tempura and steak combo for $22!! You can’t beat the price and the quaint atmosphere. Dependable flavors since I’ve been stopping by for ten years. Hidden gem in Lower Main Street Wailuku, Maui.

Oyakodonburi was extremely chili pepper spicy n needed to be returned. Egg was almost non-existent. We asked for item to be credited but instead was re-done n charged for it.Tempura was 90% batter. Surely won’t be returning again! I agree with Ted who said an option for Zero review should be available. Is it true that the owner does not give the server their tip? If so, that is against the law n should be reported to the proper authorities.

*Zero stars needs to be an option* (1star is required to post a review n that's being WAYY too generous)Mac salad was miracle whip, end of story..well, it usually would've been but the shrimp n vegetable tempura was so disgusting it needs to b mentioned....Vegetables inside tempura were soaked in oil n inedible(they were mush n disintegrating) Let staff know and showed them the insides of the inedible tempura but no concern or even offer to remake, just pay ur money n leave hungry basically. Told the waitress the mac salad was made w/miracle whip n she acted surprised like she had no idea..."oh,.really?" she said. Oh, not to mention we waited so long for our food, 45 min but then I noticed in the distance from our table, our ticket was still on the spinning thing the cooks grab from to start an order..had to bring it to staff's attention n then ticket was taken down n food came out about 15 min later.. so yeah, an hour for our inedible food to come out. Completely disappointing experience all the way around.

Food is still consistently good. We usually do takeout from here. When we have dined there over the years, some of the wait help were kind of rough in how they spoke to customers - not necessarily rude, but more unprofessional like how some people might speak to someone they’ve known for a long time and have that type of rough banter dynamic.

This place gives me nostalgia. Old school style Japanese restaurant where they serve you free salted cabbage. Ordered one of the lunch special bentos w/ kalbi and tuna sashimi. The kalbi was really sweet. Tempura coating was a little strange. Really thick.

We randomly stumbled upon this place on our last day at Maui. We ordered the Teishoku B which includes the Teriyaki Steak, mixed tempura, sashimi, and miso soup. The steak and sashimi was so good but the highlight was the tempura. Wow! This is the best tempura I ever had. It was so light but also extremely crunchy and the addition of the dipping sauce gave it the perfect amount of added flavor. I keep thinking about this place ever since I left! The server was super friendly and the place had a very cozy vibe. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

Sorry the tempura is not the same anymore it was very dense it did not taste like a tempura batter!! My friends were very disappointed After a long drive out of Hāna

I really don’t like leaving negative reviews but this was honestly one of the worst meals I’ve had. I arrived around 7pm, was seated, ordered my food, and didn’t receive my meal until close to 8pm. The restaurant was at half capacity at most. I ordered the teishoku combo and was disappointed by how little food there was in the bento box. Three small pieces of kalbi and four thin slices of sashimi. I’ll admit the sashimi was incredible quality but that was the only remarkable thing about the food. Service was incredibly slow and my waitress only came by to check on me once. I noticed another family who seemed to be waiting a while for their food, too. Hope management can fix this.
