Food was very good & tasty, but the hamachi in the sushi wasn't the freshest and Korean wings tasted a little frost-bitten even though the Korean sauce was ono.

We were at a private function for family and friends.Perfect venue for us in Central Maui. Our friend did the Hawaiian blessing of the food and friends. We had the food as buffet style and it was delicious.Larry Endrina was the entertainment. He choose to sing and play the perfect selection of Hawaiian songs for our age group and gathering. There is street parking, but read the sign carefully. This restaurant is tucked away and residents favorites. They did a great event for us and we are looking forward to going back and ordering from their regular menu.Easy to get to from Kihei, Wailea or Maalaea. ?Kid-friendliness: Great family style casual restaurant.

We went to a private function at this local restaurant. This event was a buffet of excellent local style food . The shredded pork with sauce was amazing. There was room for an excellent singer and Hawaiian music musician Larry Endrina. There was an informal Hawaiian blessing of the food and family by a talented artist and writer. The restaurant staff were very helpful and courteous. Loved this family style private gathering and look forward to going back for their regular menu. Street parking

First time here! Great service and good sushi! I recommend coming here if you love sushi. We came once it opened up which they opened 10 mins before their actually time of opening. Food came pretty quick. Really enjoyed their softshell crab bao !!

I've been to both their food truck and their restaurant many times, and they always hit it out of the park. I always get the order of truffle fries, plus the Umi Roll, and once in a while I'll get the soft shelled crab bao bun. They also change their desserts over the years for the restaurant location, and a while back I got one of their macaron desserts, it was super good! Great place to go with friends and family. Staff are super nice and it's always great to support local.- Miguel Morales Photography

If you’re after real fine dining in Waikiki, this is the place to come. The ambience is classy. Staff have culinary experience and the food is great! The best dinner we ate in Waikiki. We will be back!

Had the best date night and experience at Umi sushi Maui The vibe is so inviting and most importantly, their food/sushi is absolutely incredible! I love that they have so many unique and creative options on their menu! FYI: it's BYOB which is so awesome and convenient! They do have basic drink items; soda, tea and water. We ordered Brussels sprouts and oyster shots for starters! Let me just say that the oyster shots are the best I've ever had! So yummy that we ordered 2 rounds! Next, we ordered hamachi and hamachi Kama. We also ordered the Shiso Dragon Roll: Spicy tuna, cucumber, shiso roll topped with tuna, avocado, and potato chips, Sauce: truffle oil, spicy aioli, unagi sauce! To end our meal we tried the black sesame ice cream! Which I was so excited to try! Well, my sweet tooth decided and was very satisfied! I can't really describe the taste so go try it for yourself! last but not least, service was impeccable! Mahalo, Umi! Can't wait to return!

It was the soft-shell crab bao that put this spot on my radar when they originally opened years ago. However, evenings in Wailuku were few and far between for us, so years went by and I never got a chance to try it out. Hoping for the next best thing when I have a food truck open during the day, I stopped by right out of the airport. Not sure if it was just that day or their offerings have been pared down, but they were only offering tacos instead of the plate lunches like the ahi katsu I had my heart set on. Determined, I made an effort to stop by the restaurant an hour before closing a few days later. The soft-shell crab bao were unfortunately sold out already, womp, womp, but we made the best of it with their sushi. Yes, it is pricey with the smaller rolls coming in close to $15 and the larger specialty ones close to $25. However, two was worth the price for me, the spicy tuna and the chicken skin roll. With how unique the chicken skin roll was topped with hamachi, tuna, and fried chicken skin, that won out for round 2 especially since it was filled with spicy tuna, giving me the best of both worlds. Garlic onion, unagi, truffle oil in the sauce, how could I say no.

Got here when they first opened. Two types of seeing area. One side bar. One side more dinner. Got here right when they opened. And already had people seated for dinner. The options for food are nothing too wild. It's a fairly generic and pricy establishment. The service was super friendly and prompt. The food left us a little wanting. I guess with just landing and craving some fresh fish the fish didn't seem very fresh.... Idk. It was odd to have a tough piece of sashimi. Overall I understand while this place is popular.
