I just called to hear they are permanently closed which saddens to hear. I've always enjoyed the staff, food and drive up from the village for an amazing wrap. I can't imagine anything moving into that space that will come close to comparing to the same quality food, staff and consistency.

Every time we go to Waimea (we're from Kona) we stop at Dan-o's. If you haven't tried it, you must. Service is exceptional, food is always warm and delicious, and they have the only fries in the island I can eat without any condiments.

Our new go-to spot in Waimea! Hands down, the best falafel wrap I've ever had, esp. with the garlic sauce. The falafel is light and super flavorful and the veggies are fresh and crispy. Overall the perfect balance. And, the highlight was the garlic fries. We love garlic and they could not have had more flavor. Incredibly addictive! Highly recommend this amazing spot!

Awesome fresh pita bread and very lean beef. Overall, very tasty just needs a little more salt but I could have probably corrected that if I wasn’t so hungry and finished it within moments. The furikake seasoned fries were the best I had on the big island. There’s one bench to sit and eat which was very nice for us since we were tired of eating in the car.

Dan-O's is amazing, best falafel sandwich I have ever had. Their bread is like if ciabatta and pita had a baby. My only regret is not living here so I can't eat this every day. Super friendly staff!!

As I approached the Order window around 1:45PM signs were being posted saying several items were sold out. The Counter Person was cheery and helpful. When we figured out my plate she advised me that it would take about 30 minutes. That worked with my schedule. A good size serving of white meat chicken prepared in German schnitzel style -- similar to Japanese katsu, separate garlic yogurt sauce, and macaroni salad. It was worth every dollar and every minute's wait! And more! Simple and superb. Can't wait to get back to try some other items. So good!!'

One of our favorite gems on the big island in Waimea! I always order the beef wrap with garlic yogurt and all the veggies. I and have tried all their delicious items on the menu. Order ahead and pick up, you'll save time especially during lunch hour. They always have great customer service.

This hide away spot for lunch is a gem, using only the best ingredients and attention to detail. I never knew French fries could be so good!! And the fish sandwich wrap with fried Ono and Sriracha dressing is simply over top. Never had such good salads as well. The only downer, only open four (4) days a week until early afternoon. I always look forward to the experience and being greeted by the most handsome "Waldo" at the entrance.

Falafel Heaven!! I'm kinda a falafel snob having lived and traveled all over the Mediterranean and this is really, really, really good! I got the falafel sandwich on their fresh sourdough pita bread with all the veggies yesterday and DAMN! I had to go back for another again today. So much fresh veggies, perfect amount of Tzatziki and the falafel is seasoned and crispy, so much deliciousness packing into on veggie pocket!
