Beautiful setting on the beach. Lively atmosphere. The service was uneven, there were long stretches with no contact where more drinks could have been ordered or plates cleared. The food was ... okay. Somewhat uninspired menu, and they were out of several items we asked about on the menu. Portions were on the small side. Wine came in plastic glasses (understandable due to the beach setting) but they had a strange smell to them. Overall it was okay. Sunset was a highlight.
Our second visit to Hau Tree, this time just the two of us, and it was just as memorable. The restaurant is currently undergoing renovations, but it didn't affect the experience. We were happy to see our previous server, Conor, and requested to sit in his section—he was amazing last time and didn't disappoint. With a new menu, we asked for his recommendations and ended up with a customized pizza and the birria tacos—both were outstanding. The pizza had a rich, smoky flavor, and the tacos were absolutely delicious. Huge thanks to Conor for the great service and suggestions. A perfect date night!
It wasn't at all what I expected. The food was definitely good and the view is stunning!! But the place was a zoo-super loud, kids running amok, very slow service. I would've chosen differently had I known.
Unfortunately we were there during construction and they had a serious fly problem. It made eating your food kinda miserable. Service was fine just not a great dining experience. We ate at sundown.
Everything great except for the service. Food excellent, atmosphere fantastic, service level just awful. There were less than 20 people dining while we were there and it took 4 EV R to get anything. If you aren't in a hurry and don't care about time this is your place.
Avoid Hau Tree until the hotel remodel is finished. Limited menu, really mediocre food prepared upstairs in the hotel and lackadaisical service from the one server on duty at the prime dinner hour.
An amazing evening at a wonderful place. But the best part of our evening was the conversations had with our server Brandy. She was absolutely amazing and divine!
This was a great family, friendly dinner spot. You can't beat the location itself, on the beach. However, the restaurant is being remodeled-which really didn't matter to us. However there are portable bathrooms and some privacy construction screens. Food was fine, not amazing but fine. Kids menu was good.
Our server Brandy really made our Birthday evening. Exceptionally friendly and accommodating. She took photos, gave us the primo view, and made multiple suggestions from the menu. Her smile and attitude was Infectious. Burgers, fish tacos, poke, and steak were all great. Mmmm ice cream cookies too. She loved our matching shirts too!!

Great location for sunsets. Unfortunately the hotel is under a large remodeling project so lots of noise during the day and limited access to hotel grounds. The service needs some help, not from a lack of trying but I hold this resort and others at a higher caliber and standard and I was not seeing it. The hotel and service was “tired”, only words to explain it. The food at best was about average. Not flavorful and small portions. I ordered the chicken and the bun was normal size but the chicken covered only about 50% of it. Luckily the fries were hot and perfectly cooked. Overall I was disappointed with the food but the view of the beach and ocean never disappoints.

We had a delicious meal and the weight staff were very professional. We were not rushed, the setting was beautiful, sitting outside by the beach. Our meal was much better than expected. I thought it was going to be super casual and we had a lovely meal. That's all right.
The food was outstanding! We have been here three times for dinner now on our 7 day vacation and I have no regrets. Amazing. Jacque and Frank have provided outstanding service to us and we will continue to come back with every trip to the island.
We went to the Hau Tree to enjoy John Keawe's slack key and singing. It sits right on the beach so sunset with the best music being played just a few feet away is extraordinary. Our waitress was fun, friendly, got everything right. We both had the Salad Nicoise. It was very good - crispy little potato round, seared kampachi, al dente green beans, fresh greens and a nice mango dressing. My cocktail was good, tho overpriced. Overall a lovely evening.
*Food astounding *Views Breathtaking *Service was great *Food arrived promptly, tasty fish (Kanpachi) cooked nicely and moist, the durock pork flavorful, but no sauce. I kindly ask if I could have a side of spicy sauce. The cook made a crispy chili garlic aiole that paired with the pork well. *The only downside was the heat and the flies, givin the fact we were on the beach. The flies and heat were understandable. Our server "Connor" accommodated us with a fan for the table to help with the heat and flies. Thank you for having us for dinner
Food was very good! Fish is so fresh, yummy!!! Server Mileena is the best! Live music starts at 5 in the evening.
