On the beach at the Mauna Kea resort. The restaurant will validate your parking and you can go hang out on the beach afterwards or order take out while you’re on the beach. We got the poke, cesar salad with mahi, and a burger. All of it solid - but pricey, but you know that at a resort. Service is great and you can’t beat the view. Try the frederico which is a Mai tai with whiskey in it.
Overall not bad for above average beach food - just pricey. Would recommend for convenience if you’re going to hang out at the Mauna Kea beach.

Menu was different than what they show online. Service is not the best, food is ok at best.

Beautiful setting on the beach. Lively atmosphere. The service was uneven, there were long stretches with no contact where more drinks could have been ordered or plates cleared. The food was ... okay. Somewhat uninspired menu, and they were out of several items we asked about on the menu. Portions were on the small side. Wine came in plastic glasses (understandable due to the beach setting) but they had a strange smell to them. Overall it was okay. Sunset was a highlight.
Our second visit to Hau Tree, this time just the two of us, and it was just as memorable. The restaurant is currently undergoing renovations, but it didn't affect the experience. We were happy to see our previous server, Conor, and requested to sit in his section—he was amazing last time and didn't disappoint. With a new menu, we asked for his recommendations and ended up with a customized pizza and the birria tacos—both were outstanding. The pizza had a rich, smoky flavor, and the tacos were absolutely delicious. Huge thanks to Conor for the great service and suggestions. A perfect date night!
It wasn't at all what I expected. The food was definitely good and the view is stunning!! But the place was a zoo-super loud, kids running amok, very slow service. I would've chosen differently had I known.
Unfortunately we were there during construction and they had a serious fly problem. It made eating your food kinda miserable. Service was fine just not a great dining experience. We ate at sundown.
Been on the island for 5 days and this was the best food we’ve had all week! We got 2 pizzas and birria tacos and did family style for our little family. Beautiful breezy evening on the beach, delicious food, immaculate vibes all around. Want to come eat here every night now. It’s on a beach with the most perfect sand for kids.

Everything great except for the service. Food excellent, atmosphere fantastic, service level just awful. There were less than 20 people dining while we were there and it took 4 EV R to get anything. If you aren't in a hurry and don't care about time this is your place.
We seated ourselves, per the sign on the host stand. 25 minutes in, we hadn’t even received menus yet. So we left.

The food was pretty good; but nothing amazing for the price point. The highlight for us was sitting beachside, watching the sunset, and then heading up to manta ray point after. The resort had the lights turned on for viewing the rays from the point and it was so incredible. We made a reservation in advance and had free valet parking when we arrived at the hotel entrance.

Avoid Hau Tree until the hotel remodel is finished. Limited menu, really mediocre food prepared upstairs in the hotel and lackadaisical service from the one server on duty at the prime dinner hour.
An amazing evening at a wonderful place. But the best part of our evening was the conversations had with our server Brandy. She was absolutely amazing and divine!
This was a great family, friendly dinner spot. You can't beat the location itself, on the beach. However, the restaurant is being remodeled-which really didn't matter to us. However there are portable bathrooms and some privacy construction screens. Food was fine, not amazing but fine. Kids menu was good.
we had a 1:24 tee time and we came to the restaurant at 12. didn’t get the food till 1:20 terrible service no one was taking orders and kitchen very slow. very disappointed. didn’t even get a chance to eat we had to leave.

Average place. 1 hour wait for food to come. Medium-rare burger came out well done and fish tacos had a fly baked into them
