From the moment we arrived, the hostess was welcoming and gracious, and our server, Pohaku, made the evening truly special with excellent service and great recommendations. The food, atmosphere, and service all came together for a memorable night.
Best meal we have had on the island hands down. Same level of excellence the last time we were here 5 years ago and this week. Amazing service, three tastings to find the bottle of wine we wanted, food was delicious, other restaurants on the island pale in comparison.
Lucky are the guests who dine here! A great restaurant in a superb location. The food is garden fresh, the fish are caught locally, and the servers are warm and friendly.
The restaurant delivered an exceptional experience overall - the food was outstanding, the service attentive, and the oceanfront setting absolutely breathtaking. The only disappointment was being seated right next to a family with loud children, even though there were plenty of open tables available. This unfortunately disrupted the quiet, romantic atmosphere we had hoped for. Additionally, the absence of background music made the space feel a bit flat, which was surprising given the otherwise polished ambiance.
After driving almost an hour to the property we arrived less than 15 minutes early for our reservation. You would think better than late, but no, we were curtly told we would have to wait until 5:45 after all the 5:30s were seated even though there was no line of people waiting to be seated and the restaurant was essentially empty. The food was all excellent, without exception. One glass of red Bordeaux was clearly off, the bottle had been open too long, but didn't want to complain given the brusque service. Litlerally one bite after our main courses arrived our waitress brought over a desert menu without being asked to and started explaining about some molten dessert that takes 20 minutes. And then left it on our crowded table. Really!?! How about bringing the desert menu after the main course plates are cleared. At these prices you think you could service at least one notch above Dennys....
One of the best dinners we have had ever. The seared ahi dish was outstanding. Highly recommend, will be back in the future.
Everything was phenomenal! Excellent waiter. Of course, the manta sighting was incredible.
The food is very good and the location is lovely. Service was outstanding. Resort restaurant prices! But you're in Hawaii on the water, so I guess it's to be expected. Food is well prepared and delicious. I had the chicken and my husband ate the filet. Serving sizes were adequate.
Mahalo to Manta! We had a wonderful, relaxing experience at Manta. Bronson was our server and he was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Bronson is very knowledgeable about the dishes, and we enjoyed hearing about the creative preparations and farm to table cuisine. Making decisions was tough so we decided to share a few items in order to taste more. The beef tartare was excellent. It had a bit of spiciness which was unique and really tasty. Next was the Bouillabaise with a medley of seafood including shrimp, scallops, clams, Kona Kampachi and lobster! We also split the savory and sweet ravioli, also delicious. Both were perfect with our Chablis. And for the final drum roll, the chocolate soufflé and port. Amazing! The relaxing ambiance, and fun of watching the manta rays during and after dinner completed the evening. We cannot express our appreciation enough for the hospitality that both Bronson and Kiley extended to us. We look forward to returning to Manta on our next Big Island trip. Mahalo for a truly extraordinary evening!
I thought the menu was limited. The food was ok. The over all food has declined over the past few years.

Went on September 23rd there, the ambience was nice, ordered burrata, oysters and beef tenderloin. Everything was delicious, despite slow season there was nice live music and our server was attentive and always checking on us if all good. Orders came on time. Enjoyed the night out and especially was happy to see manta rays!! Didn’t want to go to water at night to see them and this place literally made it happen the best way. Also stars at night in the sky are amazing!

Food presentation, taste & sourcing phenomenal. Service above & beyond. View incredible...sunset over palms & beach...amazing! A bit pricey, but...would do it again in a heartbeat due to overall ambiance/food. We had scallops ravioli appetizer, catch of the day, wine, & Alaska Bombe for dessert. All was very good. We saw TWO manta rays after dinner...huge, amazing! LOVED them!
Another outstanding evening at Manta. The food, the ambiance and the service were all excellent once again. Our go to place for a great dinner and evening out on the Big Island. Our host Michael, was welcoming and most accommodating!
Of course.... Unbelievable setting , service, food, unique drinks . And then the mantas... beautiful Chef Michael's desserts were outrageous... all 4 of them
