I've never had good Mexican food in HI with the exception of a place on Ohau and NOW HERE! Authentic, made with care, and reasonably priced..
Family run, small and no frills, but smiles and heart go into the plates. Nice menu options and everything was well portion sized. Pls note - cash only, but this place won't break the bank.

This place is our favorite and most authentic Mexican food on all the islands. It is located in Hawi (Big Island). For 14 years we have been eating here. The Chili Rellenos are the very best anywhere. We are originally from Texas and New Mexico, so I can validate my statement. If you are north on the island of Hawaii, do stop in. *** OF NOTE, THEY ONLY TAKE CASH! Do not pull out your credit card. It also is BYOB, no problem!
Everything is fresh and comes out piping hot!...

We've eaten here probably five or six times this week because the food is so good but finally got time to get a review in.

The family that runs the place and cooks are just amazing and wonderful people. They put great pride in their cooking, and it shows! Definitely will be coming back. Thank you friends!

Parking: They don't serve alcohol, but neither do most establishments nearby. However, you're allowed to bring your own beverages...
