Was so excited to have shave ice on the beach, only people at the cafe, 3 orders of shave ice and it took over 30 minutes to get all 3. Each of us was nearly done or completely melted by the time the next person got theirs. Chasing my 1 year old around waiting for all the shave ice, I dropped my wallet full of cash(my fault of having cash). After I returned to our rental house I realized it was gone, went back to get it and thankfully they had the wallet and has wiped it clean of cash. The girl at the front said it was found in the bathroom.. which we never went into. You could tell they knew they had just cleaned it out. It was pretty frustrating but thankful to have the rest of my stuff in the wallet. We didn’t return to the beach the rest of our trip because it made us sick just thinking about it.

3 Frogs Cafe offers beach equipment rentals and concessions. It seems to be the only choice at Hapuna Beach for food. The menu was enticing, but I don't know if they didn't plan for the rush lunch hour or for the holidays, as they were grossly understaffed and unprepared. Many of the food options were unavailable as they were out of Pork. They had one teenager that was responisble for taking the orders, pouring fountain drinks, and making shaved ice. If someone ordered 5 drinks, it took 5 minutes before she could move on to the next task. As the teenager took the order, the kitchen would yell that another order was ready. The same person would stop taking the order and go pick up the order that was ready. There was just a lot of chaos and confusion for one person. I can't really comment on the food because I gave up after it took 35 minutes to make a single Shaved Ice. I don't blame the teenager, she was working hard. I blame management for leaving this poor teenager alone. I do think prices seemed normal for Hawaii and I appreciate the convenience of having a place for concessions and rentals, but as mentioned above, management needs to step up!

We ordered 4 shave ices and there were two girls working but only one seemed to be doing anything. She was also running the beach rental window. So anytime someone wanted an umbrella she stopped what she was doing to help them, however none of it appeared particularly busy. After 25 minutes the first shave ice was complete which my son enjoyed. Another 15 minutes passed in which we watched her start to make another one but then stop to take a food order twice. At that point we figured it would be a solid 45 minutes to an hour before the other three were made so I requested a refund. She seemed relieved to refund our money, as it was 3 less things for her to do I guess. I give two stars because the location is beautiful.

The food was really good. We half went there expecting to get some run of the mill fastfood style food, but it was delicious. We had the killah fish tacos and that is a decent meal for two people in itself. The fish was so fresh and the taco itself was light and non-greasy. We also tried the crispy chicken sandwich and it was good too. They accept cash only.

We rented beach chairs, umbrellas, and purchased drinks here. See pictures for pricing as of September 2019. They didnt open until around 11. The chairs and umbrellas were the really nice backpacking chairs with lots of storage options and drink holders. The prices weren't that bad either.

There food was great! There times of business are not what there advertisements say. The staff was not very friendly. Maybe they are getting tired of tourists

In August 2019, I had a serious medical issue and needed to quickly get a bite to eat. The park had a small snack and equipment rental concession. We checked to see what time the snack bar closed (4 PM) and hurried over to the counter at a few minutes before 3pm. When we approached the counter we were told we could only order drinks that they closed the kitchen at 3 PM each day. We ordered drinks hoping this would help a little with the medical situation. Afterwards, we were very surprised to watch while the female attendant took food orders and prepared food for five different groups of people. I called the park offices to find out what was going on but was told "it's a contractor, we can't do anything". I read several review sites later and I think this may not be that rare an occurrence. This could have turned out very badly, I was lucky. This is not the spirit of aloha that I know and love. VISITOR BEWARE

Waited 45 minutes for our food, then they came out to ask us what we ordered because they lost our order. Staff very unfriendly. We got a refund and left rather than waiting another 20 minutes. First time I've ever given anything other than 5 stars on any review but its also the first time I've seen someone write down an order, hand it to the cook, and lose it.

The fish tacos are fish sticks inside of a store bought flour tortilla with too much cabbage. It was basically a bad wrap. The only good part was the mango salsa that was probably bought at Costco.
