Great place to get authentic local Hawaiian food, and it's away from the tourism. Service was awesome and the prices are reasonable. I will go back 100%!Parking: There were a lot of cars in the lot but the place was pretty empty when we were there. I'm guessing people use it for commuter parking or something else.

We loved this place! The food was excellent -- the loco moco, kalua pig plate (with the pipikaula and mac salad), and fish tacos are a few recommendations. Would recommend every visitor to Hawaii get a traditional Hawaiian plate lunch at some point.As a tourist to the island, the poi and the lomi salmon didn't really float my boat, but very glad I tried them. If you like coconut, the haupia dessert will be up your alley as well.

Nothing beats home style food from Highway Inn. They are really consistent here as the flavors were on point and they never miss. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. We will continue to dine here for generations.
A group of us stopped by for some authentic Hawaiian delights and our selections were as follows: Pork Lau Lau tasting plate, Kalua Pic Sliders, Hawaiian Beef Stew, Smoked Moco, Teri Beef Plate with local greens, Regular Humbug (thick tripe stew) and some Bloody Mary's.Being a Georgia Boy, this was the equivalent of Hawaiian Soul Food. Interesting and we enjoyed the sampling. The Bloody Mary's were most excellent, and Kath provided great service.

One of our tour guides recommended we eat here, said the food was authentic. It was towards the beginning of my trip and I felt like ordering the Tasting Plate was such a a great choice. Just to try everything out and read about it so that throughout the rest of my time in Hawaii I felt more comfortable ordering food and knowing what things were. Great choice!

I don’t have the words to describe how good it is. You’ll have to give it a try sometime and see for yourself. Hotcakes are the fluffiest I have ever tasted and the Haupia syrup is so delicious and not too sweet. I highly suggest adding this to your itinerary.
