We loved this place! The food was excellent -- the loco moco, kalua pig plate (with the pipikaula and mac salad), and fish tacos are a few recommendations. Would recommend every visitor to Hawaii get a traditional Hawaiian plate lunch at some point.As a tourist to the island, the poi and the lomi salmon didn't really float my boat, but very glad I tried them. If you like coconut, the haupia dessert will be up your alley as well.
Nothing beats home style food from Highway Inn. They are really consistent here as the flavors were on point and they never miss. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. We will continue to dine here for generations.

Great place to get authentic local Hawaiian food, and it's away from the tourism. Service was awesome and the prices are reasonable. I will go back 100%!Parking: There were a lot of cars in the lot but the place was pretty empty when we were there. I'm guessing people use it for commuter parking or something else.
