Food was excellent as always. Plenty of it to take home. Just wanted to go and eat there one last time before it closed. So many memories floated through my mind of all the years spent there!

This place has always had small portions and the sides were never great and lately like allot of places the quality slipped even further. This place is closing and maybe we will get a barbecue chain from Texas or Tennessee in it's place (Dickies barbeque is much cheaper and has better food and it is a chain).

Great place to dine. Tomorrow is their last day open, so ita bit slow. The BBQ smoked brisket was the best! I coukd eat that on a regular. Most everyone liked their dinner minus the oil on potato wedges. Mashed potatoes awful too much seasoning. The baked beans were superb! Atmosphere great. Service mediocre. Happy place with a good menu.

Went Friday night at 8:30pm. Didn't notice they closed so early at 9pm until I saw that sign when we were walking in. Too early. Felt rushed during our meal and couldn't sit and talk and eat slow. The 14oz prime rib was decent size overall and delicious but was literally at least 40% to 50% fat. If the lights were a little dimmer and / or candle on the table would have made it a better experience. And for a 31 dollar half fat half meat plate, a small basket of complementary bread and butter would have notched the experience up.Hostess and server were great.

If you like Cajun ribs, this is the place for you, I couldnt eat them after first bite. Also had some ham, good, Brisket and Chicken, was ok, not much smoke flavor. Service and Atmosphere was great. Hopefully we just had a bad night.

Burger was great, wings were great, Cole slaw was just okay. The one downside was the banana pie, which, while the concept was good, the execution was terrible. I'd skip the desserts here in the future.

Wow. I've wanted to go here since it opened so long ago. And all I can say is this was by far some of the most amazing BBQ food ever. I got the burnt ends dinner and it was truly magical. Sides were amazing as well. Will be back without a doubt.

Never have eaten here before and never will again. Have heard how great the BBQ is and to be honest it's the worst I've ever put in my mouth. Maybe it was a bad night. I don't know and don't care. The smoked BBQ nachos were awful as well. Jethros and Big Steer are leaps and bounds better. I wouldn't recommend eating here ever.

Posting this review again since it disappeared. Over the last ten years I’ve always wanted to eat here. So for the first time last night my wife and I had a date night here. We love to share ribs when we go out to eat. The full rack we ordered was extremely horrible! My wife and I are not ones to come down on a waitress because it’s not here fault so we left it alone. The ribs were so dry and hard! you couldn’t even cut through them with a knife. I can almost bet they were reheated as other guests mentioned in reviews as well. To be honest I wouldn’t even let my dog eat them. This sounds pretty harsh, but it has to be known. I told my wife I bet there’s bad reviews online about the ribs and I was right. Could we have asked for the manager to take them off our bill? Yeah we could have, but we just left it alone. Worse ribs we’ve ever had in our lives. Any other place would have been better to get ribs than Claxons. I don’t see how the cook could actually feel it was right to serve these ribs. The cheese and macaroni was the best part of the meal for my wife. My best part was my side salad. The cheese curds were extremely greasy! Couldn’t even eat those. Most people prolly would never go back because of this. I told my wife just because the ribs were bad and the cheese curds that if we ever did go back we should try a burger? She said it wouldn’t be for a long time. I agree with her. So after spending 63.00 dollars and a 12.00 dollar tip to the kind waitress because it wasn’t her fault we went home hungry and felt jipped. I can only imagine what the waiters or waitresses have to deal with because of unhappy customers. The waitress asked us if we needed a box to go because she seen the rack of ribs barely touched. Lol My wife said no politely and that we were full. Um no! I wasn’t going to write this review, but I was thinking about it today on how much it bothered us so I had too.

A little disappointed when I specifically ordered lean brisket and my brisket sandwich was brought to the table with fat hanging off both sides of the brisket. I specifically ordered LEAN for a reason, but apparently the customers request wasn't important. The waitress was nice but unfortunately we won't be returning customers.

A work associate and I recently ordered takeout from this place and was impressed that everything was still hot upon arrival. The fried okra was good however, instead of receiving the Mac and cheese I had ordered, I was given fries. The main reason for me writing this review is to express my disappointment with the award-winning ribs that my associate and I both ordered. Perhaps it was just a one-time occurrence, but based on other reviews, it seems unlikely. While the ribs were adequately seasoned and sauced, they were significantly overcooked, resulting in a dry and stringy texture. Good ribs don't necessarily have to fall off the bone, but they shouldn't require excessive effort to remove the bone either. I don't attribute this issue to the fact that it was takeout, as I have enjoyed delicious leftover BBQ before. Despite this experience, I would consider giving this place another chance if I can be assured of well-cooked ribs.

Ordered the jam burger with mac and cheese and okra cornbread as the sides. Above and beyond my expectations; good price for the amount of food and tasted amazing as well! Just as good as I remembered ?
