Stopped in here on game day and the weather was hot outside and they had no air conditioning that explains why nobody was in there and to make matters worse the beer was warm.
I ate here as a visiting fan after a Cyclone game. Had 3 steak tacos and they were great. Loved the taco shells. The drinks were really economical too. Its a college bar but as a person in their mid 30s I felt perfectly fine in there. Even struck up some great conversations with the young folk. Would go back if I ever go back to Ames in the future.
Es Tas Bar & Grill offers a great place to enjoy late-night snacks with friends. While the service may not be very quick, customers loved the tacos and chicken wings. Some experienced slow food service, with forgotten orders and long waits. Despite one incident with a bartender, customers still plan to return but will avoid that specific staff member.
