I was in town visiting and decided to stop at Jethros for lunch. First off when I walked in the music volume was so loud I already knew it was going to be hard to sit in comfort. The music genre was not exactly what you would expect for this style of restaurant and when I asked the manager Rob who was working on 3/26/24 if we could maybe turn it down or change the music to something different he said we do not play anything different. Then when I mentioned the atmosphere around him he took it to another level of saying I was “racist” even though I did not say anything discriminating.

Food was mediocre, and I don't believe it to be worth the price. The music was very loud, and while not too annoying, it did make conversing hard to do.

Just walked out. Went in was seated quickly. Restaurant was very dead. Sat there for 10 minutes. Servers walking by. No one said hi. No one came to the table. Manager in a green shirt looked over at us a couple times and must not have put two and two together after 10 minutes that a server hadn’t been to the table. I already knew I was going to get the cheese curds, and they were gonna have to be cooked longer than normal, since they’re always mushy and soggy. I have given this restaurant three second chances Jethros is not the restaurant it used to be.
We went at at 9 p.m on a Saturday evening and the food was hot,fresh and fast. Very tender boneless wings, our waitress was Cody,and she was one of the best waitresses we've ever had.

I was very disappointed with my visit to Jethro’s BBQ Ames. The food was terrible and the service was nonexistent. The brisket was dry and overcooked, and the boneless wings were barely sauced. The waitress never came back to check on us or refill our drinks. We had to flag down another staff member to get our bill. I do not recommend this place to anyone who wants good BBQ or decent customer service.

Today I had dinner at the Ames location and my order of brisket was uneatable.Last week at the gym two friends were telling me that they don’t like Jethros in Ames. And disagreed, sharing that “I love their brisket”. Not anymore. I am not coming back.
