Jethro's BBQ Reviews
The spicy BBQ sauce is very tasty. My girlfriend and I will be going back down to Ames just to go eat there again.
Family platter 1/2 rack of ribs, 2 other meat choices, 4 sides (which are about a cup serving size) Texas toast or cornbread. $35.00!!!
Everything was delicious, I usually take a photo but I forgot this time. It was just 2 of us so we have some leftovers for hubbies lunch. Definitely recommend this place😃!
Awesomeness......again!

Jethro's BBQ is a popular spot for barbecue lovers, offering a menu with fresh, delicious food and large portions. The restaurant is known for its tasty brisket, burnt ends, and the Wisconsin Cheddar squares, which are especially popular. The Iowa platter, featuring jalapeno sausage and Bourbon bacon, is another highlight and is plenty to share. Many visitors appreciate the friendly and courteous service, with some mentioning servers who are attentive, knowledgeable, and caring, making their experience memorable. The atmosphere is generally nice, with a large space that can accommodate big groups and parties, and the staff is praised for being attentive and quick. The menu also includes options for kids and deals like Thursday's half-price boneless wings, which come with iced teas and a chocolate cake for a good value. While some find the dining area a bit open and impersonal, resembling a school gymnasium, others enjoy the overall experience. Despite being a chain, many guests find the food to be well-seasoned and homemade-tasting, with tender, smoked meats and flavorful BBQ sauces. Overall, Jethro's BBQ is a great place to enjoy hearty, flavorful barbecue in a friendly setting, making it a recommended spot for both casual outings and larger gatherings.
