Macubana is such a fun unique place. The Mac&cheese and sandwiches are excellent and prepared with care. The beer selection is fantastic and fresh. The Belgian Fries are especially fantastic. Phil the manager makes sure everything is done right. Everyone from students to local retirees come in, which shows just how well run the place is. Atmosphere is always enjoyable (though of course Welch Ave on a weekend night is what it is!)

Our Cyclone has not raved about a pasta based dish in a while, but he savored his tomato, basil, mozzarella Mac and vows to go back. I appreciated a dairy and grain free option in the cauliflower bites, which were amazing. Students and town residents alike can feel comfortable in this cozy space, enjoying comfort food and drinks, for those of age, or just a casual bite with friends. Will enjoy visiting again when visiting our Cyclone.

We ate there tonight. Awesome food and service. There was a mixup with our beignet order and we had to leave without it. Our server chased us down the street with them after he had already taken them off our bill. And they were well worth the wsit

Seemed like the guy helping me didn't want me there. Didn't greet or acknowledge me when I walked in. Seemed annoyed to be having to help me. Didn't say one word to me when I paid. I guess the 5 dollar tip for a TO-GO order wasn't enough. Portions were small for the price.

The food here is great. The portions could definitely be a little bigger, but the taste makes up for it. That being said, the server wearing glasses and a grey hoodie really needs an attitude check. He was extremely rude, gave snarky responses, and had a gross, disrespectful demeanor. Honestly, I wouldn’t want to come back if he’s working.

Amara was our server and she was delightful! she made sure we were taken care of right away even though it was super busy! she was so positive and gave us recommendations on the menu. I would recommend this place to anyone in ames!

If you like watching wipeout (the obstacle course television show) and sports while eating Mac and cheese tacos on a Tuesday, there is no place better than this. I’ll be back to sit at the bar and have some good Belgian fries and watch well curated TV shows :)
