Ames is so lucky to have this wonderful bakery here on Main Street! We especially like the multi grain and traditional rye breads, and we are just starting to try their cakes and pastries. Everything we have had is delicious and the quality you would find in a fine European pastry shop. We split a piece of the Kyiv cake for dessert this evening, and it was excellent. Highly recommended!
The lemon pistachio cookies in the Sviato boxes are amazing! These unique boxes are a perfect holiday gift idea.
A great bakery where workers are willing to share their culture and make sure you pick the best bakery item for your preferences! A great experience :)

I just learned about this business a little over a month ago, but I wish I had known about it when it first opened. Excellent sourdough bread. Our family is working our way through all of the treat options--all delicious--though I am fixated on the stollen. The quality of what's on offer is excellent. Very friendly proprietors. Somewhat limited hours--but this is understandable, because the venture is a group side-hustle of sorts. Just a wonderful addition to Ames. Definitely worth a stop--or, for me, many stops.
Heard about this bakery on IPR. Did not disappoint

Piece and Freedom Bakery is certainly a great asset for the community of Ames. They serve traditional Ukrainian baked goods.I find the sourdough bread to be very good, especially the Gouda and Green Onion.

Some of the best dessert I’ve ever had. I literally regurgitated it so I could eat it again.

Stopped in during the farmers market on Saturday. We got the potato curry pyrizhky and a few sweet bakes. Delicious! Staff was so quick and attentive. Really enjoyed stopping here! Well done!

Absolutely stunning food! We had pavlova, spinach raspberry cake, and a quiche. All of it was amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They have all sorts of descriptions of the food on the walls that give a history of the food from Ukraine. As someone from Minnesota, I would come back here just for this place.
