“Step into the London Underground and get ready for a vibe that's classic London pub with a twist. This spot is all about the whiskey and handmade drinks, catering to those who appreciate a quality pour. Now, here's the deal – they've got $1 Gin and Tonics. Yep, you heard that right. It's no wonder the place is buzzing with college crowds and locals looking for a good time without breaking the bank.We swung by on a Thursday night, around 9 pm, and surprisingly scored a table for six without any hassle. Despite the crowd, it had that laid-back atmosphere we all dig.And let me tell you about the drinks. We kicked back with some seriously good Old Fashioneds with the family, soaking in that authentic London pub feel.We were hyped for the Absinthe night coming up, especially since it coincided with my wife's birthday bash. But, unfortunately, plans fell through. That's life, I guess.Overall, if you're after that classic London pub experience with a modern twist, the London Underground is the spot to hit up.Parking: Parking is in the street and shared with other bars and businesses.Wheelchair accessibility: Not really an accessible joint for the wheelchair bound.“

“Gayle, Scott, Dad, and I had just experienced a forgettable meal experience at the nearby HyVee Cafe. Instead of heading straight home, Scott suggested that we drive past our former Ames house and then stop for a drink at Mother's Pub, which was known as Dugan's Deli when he attended ISU. We had a nice time, as we ordered our drinks, took them to the patio outside, and let Scott reminisce about his college days. And even though I graduated as a Hawkeye, I could tell my own Ames stories, like the time Bob Merrill and I stormed onto the old Clyde Williams Field with others to cheer the ISU football team during coin toss. As ISU is not in session, Mother's Pub was a bit quiet, like we were almost the only ones there. I wouldn't mind coming back to hear some live music and hanging out with family again.“

“We came on a random Friday evening as we wanted to get out of the metro, and a friend recommended it. We loved it. The service was fast and friendly & the food tasted great. They halogens to have music bingo (a fun surprise for us) and we loved it. It was much more fun & challenging than the music bingo we play in the metro (dj trivia). We will definitely be back! They told us they do trivia on Thursday's as well!“
