We've been coming here since it was Chu Chu donuts, and the new owners haven't missed a beat. Big fan of the dough and how the donut itself is so delicious! I've had donuts where the only redeeming quality was the toppings and the dough itself was lackluster, but Ambrosia does it right.Our favorites are the best claws, apple fritters, and cronuts.Such friendly owners and staff as well!

I have so many great things to say about Ambrosia Donuts, their amazing owners and staff. I visit each weekend and am welcomed by name. They know our “usual” order which is always welcoming! The donuts are amazing. Some of our favorites are the donut/cronut holes, cake donuts, cronuts, blueberry fritters and old fashioned!

I've come here several times and it was time to write a proper review! The staff is always friendly and helpful! This place gets busy especially on the weekends which I think is a good thing! Love to see a thriving business- sometimes the line wraps around the place when I've come! The staff does their best to keep it moving with their friendly service! The donuts taste amazing as well, and it's become my fave donut place in all of Ankeny!

There's not much to the atmosphere, but once you're at the counter, who cares? It's one of the most beautiful donut counters you'll see...everything looks good and tastes even better.Strongly recommend the maple bacon long john (ask for bavarian creme filling), cronuts (the round ones are better) and the cinnamon rolls. But you can't go wrong with anything you pick here.
Came to visit because I was told by a coworker these are the best donuts in Des Moines! Fresh even at 10:30 on a Sunday this was a fantastic treat. Got the glazed cronut and glazed donut and both were wonderful. They are a great representation of donuts that let the dough and the glaze shine as you could taste the deliciousness of both! Kind and fast service, cute and clean store inside.

Went there for the 1st time after being told to go for months. I should have went a long time ago; the donuts are amazing so fresh and tasty! I will have to go back again!!!
At last a place with filled raised doughnuts like Hampton's Korner Bakery used to have. I'd get fat if we lived close.

I went to Ambrosia and picked up two dozen donuts to celebrate my daughter's birthday after her soccer tournament and I couldn't have been happier with Ambrosia Donuts. They were polite and quick to fill my order, and I had so many compliments and enquiries as to where they came from. Everyone said they were perfect donuts - tasty and cooked perfectly. We were from out of town, but if I'm in Ankeny again, we'll for sure stop by Ambrosia.

We live very close to Ambrosia and when we finally got around to visiting, we went twice in the same week! They have fantastic service and a large selection of doughnuts and morning drinks. The doughnuts have a good texture and are good sized. Make sure to come early for the best selection, there's often a line on the weekends!
