The food was good, but the coffee tasted burnt. I love a really strong, dark coffee, but I couldn't even drink this. Smelled like something was burning the entire time I was there, so maybe there was just a bad batch of roasting. Hopefully better next time around.

I am biased with this place because my family stops here most Sunday mornings and we just find it so cozy. The seasonal drinks are fun and the breakfast sandwiches are really good. My only wish is for some less sweet drinks for people who enjoy the taste of coffee. Many of their flavors sound fun to me, but when I get them, I feel like I'm drinking a piece of cake in latte form. I gravitate toward a plain cold brew with seasonal cold foam for a little less sweetness.

I visited Cafe Diem for the first time today and I’m absolutely blown away! The owner Sarah and her team are incredibly warm, welcoming, and truly passionate about what they do. Every single thing on the menu is made in-house with so much love and care — the quality is on another level. Compared to Starbucks or the big chains, this place is in a different league! Fresher, tastier, and honestly just better in every way. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and go — you’ll leave wondering why you ever went anywhere else! ☕✨ Highly, highly recommend!!!

Rude staff that don't greet people upon entering. $20+ for a breakfast sandwich and pancakes and no sides. They expect tipping but we order at the counter and then bus our own stuff. They have like warm water out for customers. You can't add ice? Try harder. We're not coming back.

Cafe Diem..so you dare not ask for refill of coffee. You just get one cup. ..even though the word cafe is in the title. Coffee was cold and when we asked if they could microwave it..they did and it took forever to get it back and it was actually the same temperature if not colder. If you are looking for friendly staff..forget it. We will come back..always will give the place a second chance. This was their second chance yesterday and because we were with a handicapped friend..we didn't get up and walk out. Fyi..we ourselves owned a restaurant for over 50 years and definitely wouldn't have survived that long with this kind of service. Management here needs to get in control!

Unfortunately, this restaurant is going downhill. I’d really like to see it. Get back on its feet. When I first started going in it was wonderful. Loved it, and suggested it to everyone. Now I’ve had burnt to undercooked food. Today the omelette was runny and the hashbrowns were rubbery. I hate to see them loose their good reputation. Hoping management catches this post.

I've been to Cafe Diem many times at this point. I love their coffee the it's a great date spot or meeting place. If you go to DMACC Ankeny, it's a great escape from campus and a two minute drive. Love it

This place is a great spot to begin your day or take a break in the middle of a busy one. Kindness all over, a good overall vibe that surfaces due to the layout and spacing. I loved my breakfast burrito. Workspace available, but it can get crowded. WiFi. Drive-through. Tabitha is terrific.
