Yummy food & great service! We went right at open and Torie was our server; he was very kind and attentive. Only note I have is that the hours on Google and their website don’t align with when they’re actually open ?

Good food. They are new and working out some issues. Service works hard, but not sure if they are supported by owner.

From the start the place was filthy. The floor was crusty, there was old food on it, and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a few days. The food was also not great despite the fact we waited 25 minutes for it to come out.Won’t be back due to cleanliness alone.

Tried this place out for the first time today. Food was pretty good, the atmosphere is pretty casual. Being it was a German place though I was expecting more German beer. What I had though was pretty good and waited well with the meal.

Walking into this establishment almost felt like walking into a bar trying to be a restaurant. Very limited seating, so if this place catches on, there will be wait times. We sat in a booth, and the wait was about 7-8 minutes. Our waitress informed us they had a call in, so she was playing bartender to a full bar while waiting tables. My heart felt for her.We had a blue berry mule, which the drink menu is very mule heavy. The star of the show was the Sweet German. A drink that had drizzled chocolate in the glass and the tastiest drink inside.I had the Rahmschnitzel, which is like a tenderloin, only smothered in a gravy. It was delicious, as were the seasoned fries. She had the basic burger and thought it was delicious.I ordered a side of beer cheese and told the waitress, I didn't think it was beer cheese, but she insisted. What I had in my small cup was so thick it took 60 seconds to roll out. Still think it was mustard. Also, I never received my spatzel.I will attribute this to the short staffing, but for a new restaurant, you need to step the game up as your concept as real potential.

The burgers are amazing! If you like a real burger, they are well portioned, plus all the fixens and different sauces they have for their burgers. Food is always good every time we go. We got the Jagerburger and the Big Boar.

Relaxed spot for a great cocktail and well prepared German food with a good selection of vegetarian and gluten free options.Vegetarian options: The chili is great and vegetarian, but the main draw for me was the tenderloins/schnitzels (pork).Dietary restrictions: Gluten free fryer for fries, tenderloins, schnitzels. No cross contamination issues for us (one guest with Celiac's).
The food is amazing and Nikki is the sweetest bartender around. This is a great lowkey spot in Ankeny if you're looking for something of

We had heard some mix reviews. However our party of 9 went to celebrate a birthday. The food was very good. We had a wide dejection of courses and the pretzel appetizers and it was all very good. And the highlight of the night might have been our waitress. She did an outstanding job of getting our drinks and keeping them filled. She answered all of our questing on the different dishes. Very attentive. I highly reconvene a visit.
