Went for ice cream with my husband and 4 year old grandson. Ordered, sat in the dining room and they were enjoying their ice cream. 5 or so minutes into our visit we heard the employees cursing and calling each other names. We got up to leave, and I asked my husband and grandson to the car and let the employees know what he had heard. No Manager identified, no apology, just blank stares or staring at the ground. Email corporate on Sunday, they responded on Monday deferring to the franchisee. I gave them a week to respond and I received no response. So here I am. Sad day when you can't take your grandson to get ice cream.

Pick up my mobile order through the drive through, a simple one sandwich meal + a free coffee. I wait 20 minutes while every other car goes free. I pull back around and explain I haven’t gotten my food and they repeatably ask if I’m John, I am not. I get zero communication from a manager and I am nearly shunned with silence as they make and deliver 5 minutes later my meal, with zero apology or even acknowledgment. 35 minute ordeal. Thanks McDonalds ??

The McDonald's on South Ankeny Blvd. in Ankeny, is inconsistent at best to at times, just bad. I've frequented this particular restaurant many times over the years and have found that the food and service has declined a great deal. The last time that I visited, it was a forgotten cheeseburger and soggy fries. However, tonight it was an all but raw lower beef pattie on my double quarter pounder (see picture), mixed up sodas with one being the wrong size and flavor, and overall cold, poor quality food. I did wait in the drive-thru for at least 15 minutes after paying, prior to getting my food, but I wasn't alone as the person in front of me had been waiting even longer. Overall, the people working the windows, taking orders and payments, and also bringing food out to cars, all seemed to be doing their best. Unfortunately, it just wasn't enough as this particular McDonald's isn't delivering on the standard that's been set by this franchise for so very long.
