Easily one of the best restaurants in Ankeny. Featuring a large menu with a variety of Thai staples, everything is flavorful, well-presented, and with good portion sizes as well.

The Kao Soi is my personal favorite entree, but I've yet to try anything that I wouldn't recommend, and the Duck Bacon Wonton appetizer is a nice way to get things started off.

Staff always seems very knowledgeable and can make good recommendations based on your preference.

Edit: I did stop in tonight at 7pm and was told the outdoor seating area was unavailable since they closed at 8. Seemed odd to me, as it was a beautiful evening, so we just went somewhere else to eat. Not sure what the reason behind that policy is exactly.

Great food and appetizers, the waitress and her assistant were always checking on us. It was lunchtime, on a Thursday, so it wasn't extremely busy. Definitely will be back.

Sorry, I got sick from having padthai here!

A decent looking place. Quite fresh looking actually. It’s spacious and nice.
So we hope the food and service were decent also. Sadly it was not the case.
Our padthai was a watered down version with super sweet sauce and just plain with noodle, crushed peanut and some tiny bit of beansprouts. No sign of egg, tofu and veggies. If you want those included, you gotta pay extra. What kind of padthai is that? We have had padthai in countless places, both stateside and overseas, Thailand included and have not seen a padthai like this one.

My son complained he had stomachache 10 minutes into having his padthai. I thought he was just making an excuse so he could be done with his dinner and dive into the milktea.

Yet Milk tea was a failure, my son barely touched it. For desert, our sticky rice mango had a big piece of plastic in it. (And the mango was super sour.) We notified the waitress and she was like ‘sorry about that’. And took the plastic piece away. That was the end of the conversation. No further action or apology happened.

Service was very slow and inattentive. We had to keep looking for our waitress. Or went looking for them coz they were not around or not waiting their table.

I thought ok we had a bad experience. Then when i got home, the diarrhea came. My daughter also complained her tummy hurt.

You gotta seriously look into your recipe, hygiene and service again. Thank you!

I was pretty disappointed with their food. We all got the pad Thai as it’s such a favorite Thai dish for our whole family. When we took the first bite we could tell it wasn’t authentic and super sweet. And worst of all gave my family stomachaches. Also, I found plastic in my food.

Very fast service. Tasty food at reasonable prices. This space is very large and can easily handle a large group event.

Lots of options. I had the street Thai noodles and it was great.

Fairly good food, clean restaurant. I have an allergy to certain smells and the overpowering Glad Plug-in air freshener smells turn into an instant headache for me. Rather than let the natural smells of cooking food take over the restaurant, they have to go with these terrible scents. It doesn't smell like a restaurant when you walk in.... not even in a good way.

No freshly made iced tea... ask for tea and you'll get a gas station style bottle of Gold Peak iced tea marked up significantly.

Also, on a Monday night in a fairly large restaurant, only three tables were being used, but rather than spread customers out to give space, they were packed together in a small space in booths one right after the other.

Good food, but nothing exceptional that leads me to believe this place will still be around in 5 years.

We were disappointed. The appetizers we ordered never came. Entrees had good flavor but not temperature hot. Lukewarm. Waitress did not check on us. Was a disappointing experience.

First let me say that what I like about this place most is one specific dish. I have eaten at least 3 different dishes. Quite frankly, 2 of them were sub-par, in my opinion. BUT, their yellow curry is exceptional.

When I ate at the restaurant, the service and atmosphere are decent, however I mainly get my food to go now.

My biggest complaint is the portion and food quality consistency. Sometimes my rice is 3/4 full. Sometimes my rice is slightly burnt. Sometimes my yellow curry is filled up to the correct line. Sometimes it’s missing several ounces of sauce. Sometimes the potatoes are kind of raw. Sometimes I don’t get plastic utensils. I would highly appreciate if I could get the same quality and portion size each time and not have it be a mystery each time.

Like look at my picture. What are the staff thinking when sending this off. Just “that’s good enough”. I’m paying $20 just for this meal and this is the whole highlight. Everything else is white rice. Like can you fill me up correctly

However, the uniqueness of the dishes and quality of cooking is much better than a lot of places I have been to.

Lastly, the staff are nice, well-mannered and respectful.

I'm not a big Asian food guy but my wife is. Atmosphere is great and our server did his best to take care of our large table of people. My wife had the silk fried rice, just bland and her rice was clumped, not freshly made it appeared. I had the Angry Elephant, was hoping it would have been better and I missed the fried rice side is another $3.50, my bad since I can take or leave any kind of rice, just assumed it came with but menu states clearly it charges, I missed it.
