My husband and I just tried this place last night. The food was amazing. We tried lamb saag, hyderabad lamb curry, chicken momos and apricot delight for dessert. The service was excellent. Will definitely go again.
We love eating here as a family. The absolute best Indian food in the metro area. Great service and clean and inviting restaurant. Highly recommend!

Spice Rasta Indian Grill & Bar is a favorite restaurant in Ankeny and considered the best Indian food in the Des Moines metro. It is an absolute gem, delivering authentic and finely cooked Indian food with wonderful flavor. The service is attentive, helpful, and funny, and the restaurant is clean.
Many dishes receive high praise. The Paneer Tikka Kabob, Tikka Masala, Malai Kofta, and Paneer Lababdar are loved. The Paneer Tikka Masala is rich, vibrant, and deeply aromatic with a luscious, velvety sauce. The butter chicken and mutton biryani are also excellent. For appetizers, the vegetable samosas are perfectly crispy and warmly spiced, and the spring roll is enjoyed. The full tandoori chicken is excellent.
Sides and breads are highlighted. The butter naan, garlic naan, and plain naan are warm, soft, pillowy, and ideal for mopping up sauces. The dal makhani is considered the absolute best, slow-cooked to creamy perfection with a smoky, buttery richness. The methi chaman curry is delicious. Meals are served with beautifully fragrant, light, and fluffy basmati rice.
Portions are generous, offering great value. Spice levels can be ordered to preference, with medium providing the perfect amount of seasonings and heat. The hot and sour soup is spicy to one's liking. For dessert, the Apricot Delight—custard with apricot sauce and whipped cream—is especially loved and sometimes given complimentary to regulars. The atmosphere is noted as having nothing unique in decor or music, but the overall experience is highly recommended, making it a must-visit and a go-to list addition.
