This was my first time visiting The Outside Scoop, and I was really impressed by their professionalism and friendliness. I’ll admit the prices were a little on the higher side, but that’s to be expected in Ankeny—and honestly, for what you get, it’s fair. The quality and overall experience make it worth it. If I’m ever in the Ankeny area and craving ice cream again, I’ll definitely keep them in mind!

We recently had the Outside Scoop truck at our wedding and I think it was one of the best decisions we made! We have loved getting ice cream from Outside Scoop for years, so we felt it was the perfect idea to have them at our wedding as well. The booking process was easy, we got to choose the ice cream flavors, and they communicated very well. We got a lot of compliments on having ice cream at our wedding and would highly recommend the idea to others getting married!

My daughter in law went to school with one of the owners when he started the business selling ice cream out of a food truck. Watched the business grow for a few years. Finally got around to visiting his new-ish brick and mortar store.

Half dozen kids working the counter who don't know how to listen and are more about being fast than precise. Nobody really in charge. Supplies (napkins/spoons/etc) needed restocked. Floor needed swept. Trash dumped.
