I was the bartender there for 13 years. I can say I still say I enjoy going there. There is live entertainment daily (the customers) and the drinks truly are the BEST IN TOWN! (can't advertise it if it isn't true) I appreciate the feeling of family that exudes from all the customers. Regulars and newbies alike. They do Happy Hour Mon. - Thur. From 4pm to 6pm. Chips and candy bars plus the pizza is pretty good.So I recommend that you stop by and check this "dive" bar out
Wilson's was nothing short of a pleasantly colorful experience. We loved the shuffle board table (not many places have these anymore) and the wide variety of music being played by the local patrons.

I am an Ames native but live in Hawaii now. My brother, his wife, my sister, and my nephew hung out there for a few hours last night. We had a blast. Friendly bartender, great jukebox, good vibes...and in the middle of summer, a pitcher of ice-cold beer is amazingly refreshing. Can't wait for a return visit!
