Nice setting along the river and very large place. Menu is large, but I always order just a few different items. Never disapointed after leaving!
Good service but food was just ok. My pork chop was overdone but baked potato was good. Salad bar was decent.
This place has always been a little run down, but the new owners have let it go so far. It is filthy. The women's bathroom was a disaster. There was a white and black fuzzy mold on just about every surface. The sink countertop had been removed and there were nails sticking out. There were puddles of water everywhere. The paper towels were not in the dispenser; the huge roll was just sitting in the water on the counter. Plus, the food was cheap tasting and expensive to boot. If you get more than a frozen burger or sandwich, expect to pay $15-20 per person.
Way expensive for frozen food. Found a piece of plastic from their bagged salad from the salad bar. Not the best wait staff either.
Still a nice place to meet up and eat. Waitress was nice just not the brightest. Order a filet, medium rare, and she brought me catfish? Not sure what that was about but issue was resolved.
Rib eye had to much gristle and fat. Not hot. Weird no veg. With meal. For $20 you should. Tastes ok...fries nothing fancy.
Don't waste your time. We were seated about 11:30 a.m with only 2 other tables that were seated. There were 2 waitresses working. We placed our order of Potato Skins, 2 pulled pork with fries, and a prime rib sandwich with fries. There were several tables that came in about 10 minutes after we ordered. After about a 30 minute wait we asked the waitress about our order. She looked clueless. I asked if at least our potato skins were done. She came back and said she had forgot to put the order in for the potato skins but our food was done, yet she didn't bring our food out at that time, she brought another table's order that had been seated after us. Finally got our order. Pulled pork's were good. Steak sandwich was like leather, very dry and she forgot the fries. She assured us that the potato skins would be out shortly and we wouldn't be charged for them. Long story short, we spent well over an hour in there. Our potato skins came as we were getting ready to go. Because the steak sandwich was inedible and didn't get touched we tried the potato skins. They were so hard a fork wouldn't even go through a few of them. I also had to get up and walk to the bar to ask for a refill of an iced tea. Big Muddy's Used to be good and anytime I came to Burlington I would eat there. The last time I stopped it wasn't so good but figured it was an off day but have heard many people complain of the same things lately. After today's service I won't be back. Plenty of other places to eat in Burlington
A lot of good things on the menu. Good views of the river. Seems to have been allowed to deteriorate over the years, but still was good. You walk into the bar, but the dining room is good
Granted they were pretty busy when we went but we just were not impressed. The waitress was a lovely person but the food wasn't worth the price IMO. There was maybe half a chicken breast on my $15 plate accompanied only by some sweet potato fries. The fries were tasty but the chicken was dry. It took about an hour to get our food; like I said they were busy. We just weren't impressed.
Salmon was amazing. Service was great. Ashley and I believe Anna were very amazing and made our visit Great! The view is worth everything.

Currently having lunch at Big Muddys. Have a great river view. Park in the upper lot and walk over the back bridge. The staff is ready to serve.
One of my favorite places to eat in Burlington.
The food and service is usually pretty great. We went when they were very busy, and our server was quite busy but she did say excellent job, especially considering how many tables she had. Just expect to spend a bit more on food and drinks versus similar restaurants.
Poor service. Rarely came back to check on drinks. Brought one bill and said it was because kitchen was busy.? Which kitchen busy has nothing to do with server cashing us out.Food was good. Gone Down hill. Not like it was with Dennis ☹ Great happy hour. Good for a drinks with the guys.
Great atmosphere. Overlooks the Mighty Mississippi River, in Burlington, Iowa. Staff and service great. Prices, average for a steak house. Pasta, seafood, steaks. Full bar. Room enough for weddings etc.
