Im such a small town, local foodie and this is DEF another delicious find in the middle of Iowa. It was sooo good I forgot to take pics before chowing down. We started with garlic parm buffalo wings, then I got the better than KPOP chicken sandwich and when I say it slapped sooo hard. The flavors worked so great together.
WILL BE BACK 10/10 I NEED TO TASTE THE REST OF THE MENU

The best thing we ate was the crab ragoon nachos and sweet potato fries but it just wasn't our jam for the price it came out to as well. And they were out on a lot of things 😭 but that's ok. It was a good experience regardless and it happens when you try something new.

A unique experience. Staff was quick and helpful. The decor is a mash of things from the eighties. From a leg lamp at the booth in the front to the dozens of framed reminders of the decade and we cannot forget, mixed drinks all names after lines from the Goonies. The food was very good with generous portions and despite my initial assumptions I was able to finish almost everything we ordered. It was just too good to stop. Movies from the '80s were played on at least one TV with a basketball game on another. Not sure who came up with this concept but I left well fed and entertained.

We took a nearly-2-week road trip across the country. The Som was where we ate on our second night on the road, and it remained our favorite place during the whole trip. Food, cocktails, ambiance etc were just perfect!!
Until this place gets new ownership/management, they’re gonna continue to lose good; hard working people unfortunately. Take your business elsewhere. Perhaps a place that actually respects their employees.

I went to The Som for dinner on Monday evening (9/8/2025) on the referral from the Honorable Joseph Hayhoe. The Wings (yes, I capitalized Wings because they’re that good) at Som are possibly the best in the world. They’re amazing. Go….like multiple times today. Get them with sauce on the side. The char…the flavor…the juiciness…the overall experience is leg shaking. Then, after four orders of Wings, order everything on the menu. Music selections and atmosphere are fab. Enjoy. Cheers. Go forth and spread the word.
