One of a few great breakfast places in Burlington. We stopped here on Easter Sunday 2024. I got the Maui French Toast and it was excellent. Highly recommend!

Went for brunch this morning & a friend got asked if she had another ID in her wallet accusing her of having a fake, she’s nearly 22! Neither of us have ever owned a fake, absolutely

I'm a cook at Wake N Bake, and absolutely ? love it!! The atmosphere is so laid back, and i work with an AMAZING crew.. front and back of the house.. I have been told on many different occasions that people can't believe how wonderful our food, service, and ambience that we've created... excellent food quality, fast delivery of food to the tables, and excellent presentation! That is what we strive for.. consistent, quality food that never disappoints.. and we are awesome at what we do... thank you for your patronage, and hope you come in and see us again soon!

Wake N Bake Restaurant:A Disappointing ExperienceAs a former employee, I feel compelled to shed light on the shortcomings of Wake N Bake Restaurant. My experience working there revealed numerous issues that severely compromise the quality of the establishment.First and foremost, the hygiene standards are abysmal. Dirty dishes are a common sight, and the kitchen floor resembles a hazardous grease trap, with approximately 3 inches of grease accumulated beneath the gas stove, flat top grill and grease fryer. Also, the grease fryer is never properly cleaned, with about a half-inch layer of gunk accumulated at the bottom. When old grease is exchanged and replaced with new, it is often not clean, further compromising food quality. This neglect for cleanliness not only poses health risks but also reflects a lack of regard for basic sanitation. The incompetence of the kitchen staff exacerbates matters further. Employees exhibit a profound lack of experience, resulting in the consistent delivery of burnt or undercooked food to patrons. The kitchen environment is characterized by chaos and disorganization, where recipes are disregarded, leading to inconsistent taste and texture in the dishes served. One of the most concerning revelations pertains to the handling of food safety. Bacon, a staple ingredient, is precooked early in the morning and served throughout the day, sometimes extending to the next day if leftovers remain. This practice compromises the freshness and quality of the bacon, which should be prepared fresh for each serving. One of the most alarming revelations pertains to food safety practices. Meats are frequently cross-contaminated as they are prepared, with staff working directly on stainless steel tables instead of using proper cutting boards. Moreover, the surfaces are not adequately sanitized afterward, heightening the risk of foodborne illnesses. Additionally, I have personally witnessed an instance where 20lbs of raw meat has been mishandled, with the kitchen lead staff instructing staff to portion and serve meat that had been dropped on the floor—posing a detrimental health concern for patrons and is also a clear violation of food safety standards. In summary, Wake N Bake Restaurant falls short of meeting even the most basic expectations of a dining establishment. From poor hygiene practices and inexperienced staff to disregard for food safety regulations, the flaws within the operation are glaring. For those seeking a satisfying culinary experience, I strongly advise looking elsewhere.

Really great brunch spot. Chicken and biscuits… chicken and donuts… grits! I feel like despite iowa being covered in corn, you rarely see grits on menus. This place knows what they’re doing. I’ve even been to a few of their events and had a great time - music, dancing, fun. Love the vibe - great spot to bring friends.

It was ok. Walked in and was sent to the back of the restaurant, where it looked like a basement with folding tables. Ended up sitting at the bar due to that. Food was 2/10, and the service was 3/10. But the friendly old customers there made it better. Won't be going back.
