My partner and I visited Barn Happy on this drizzly fall day and were instantly transported into a cozy, little cottage that made me feel as if I was in my grandma’s kitchen. I felt her presence strongly as we sat at a table eating the most savory Butternut squash soup that has ever touched my lips. And I could swear the crust on the Swiss and bacon quiche was my grandmother’s recipe. I can’t wait to come back and experience her pies again. I just know she’s in the kitchen rolling dough with the rest of you gals. Thank you for the best Fall afternoon! We will see you again soon!
Very nice and positive
Barn Happy does a nice job of promoting handmade items, made in Iowa but I found the vast majority of their items and decor way too heavy on faith based items. The people were polite and I liked the repurposing of the barn itself, but the for sale items and music that was playing turned me off. Also, the Cappuccino that we ordered was made by pushing the "Cappuccino" button on the machine behind the counter and it was not good. Overall, not a place I will stop at again.
Love the high class food, pies, prompt service, easy accessibility and parking. Good experience (have been there several times in the past few years). I live in Ames and have a friend in Cedar Falls--we both think highly of Barn Happy.
I think 350 is a little high for coffee!
Everything was great. Family from out of state really enjoyed it.

Good food, often crowded. The seating is in the same area as shopping area so it’s hard to see everything.
Parking: Not at all organized, just parking in rows on the lawns

I absolutely love Barn Happy! It is one of my favorite places to meet up with friends and family, whether for just coffee or for a tasty breakfast or lunch. It is a relaxed atmosphere, and seating is surrounded by an array of products and handmade goods from Iowa artisans and vendors, so you can gift shop while you are there. If you prefer antiques and vintage items, check out the barn loft. Currently, they are offering beautiful, fresh picked flower bouquets in vases on

Whenever I'm home, I make sure to head out to Barn Happy to grab some great homemade products for friends and family back in Germany. Also, the flavored coffee beans are an exceptional treat. My favorite is the Amaretto flavored beans which is subtle on its own, but makes for an excellent morning roast when mixed with a regular coffee.

Definitely very good food, bit pricey but you pay for quality. Will recommend this place. The menu changes often but who cares, don't come here for a hamburger. Bring a friend and have coffee and something sweet.
