Carlos O'Kelly's - Cedar Falls

The bowl I had was better than a lot of authentic Mexican food I've had. It's really good food. If life was a game where you had to find a Mexican restaurant to marry, then this place would be my soulmate. I went to the pancheros next door first, and was baffled by the dismal atmosphere and slow service. The mood was depressing. I walked out and across the street to this place and ordered a fajita bowl. Salsa: chunky and fresh. Chips: warm and crispy. Fajita bowl was incredible. Great portion and highly reasonable prices. Angelo was a great server. Made sure drinks were full and was very attentive. 10/10 experience.

Went to Carlos and the food has changed and doesn’t taste the same and for the prices I can go to A MEXICAN restaurant and get more food for lesser price. And the server was just plain out rude and never checked on us to get drink refills.

This location has completed recent remodeling and freshened things up. New tables and decorations throughout. They are selling their old decorations. Food was good as always here. Consistently great food and service.

Had to wait to sit down even though more than half the tables were empty. Never a fan of doing that. The first table we were seated at still had food on it and the host thought I was joking when I asked for a clean table.Other than that, it was good food. The waitress failed to recognize the universal sign telling her to get me another beverage so I didn't get a refill.

I'm from Omaha and they have closed all of our Carlos restaurants. It's been my favorite restaurant for 25 years! I was in Cedar Falls and had to stop and boy am I glad I did. Food was still amazing (chicken enchiladas diablo is where it's at.The endless chips and salsa are amazing (best salsa ever in my opinion!) plus phenomenal queso.Also, if you get a salad, try their in-house fiesta ranch!!! Sooooo good! Definitely recommend, especially if you have kiddos. The kids meals are affordable and had descent portion sizes!!Everything was well priced too!!! And this location was fresh off a remodel so was clean as well! Definitely recommend!

Even with the challenge of being open during a major remodel, the staff still didn’t skip a beat! They were friendly and prompt. The food was awesome and as always, I did t need a to-go box!
