Lasagna was good. Prime rib was tough and bland. The salads were good. The peas were good. The tiramisu was good as well as the brandy alexander. The salads had a tiny about 1 1/2 inch piece of crusty cheese bread. (very small portion) and the lasagna had two pieces of dry, crusty bread without much flavor. For “Italian” food, the meal was served with sparse, tasteless bread. The waitress was very attentive and had excellent manners. The atmosphere was warm and inviting.

I was in town this past weekend for a wrestling tournament and decided to eat here on Friday night. Fantastic little place. I ordered the prime rib and sweet potatoes. Everything was wonderful. Prime rib cooked to perfection. Had a side of horseradish. The food of the people I was sitting with looked really good as well and everyone raved about what they all had individually ordered. We ended up eating here the next night as well because the food was so good. Great service too. Everyone was very accommodating and prompt.

Food is delicious. It's always freshly made. They have pretty good dessert options, too.Service is excellent. Never have to wait for water refills or the food to arrive, even when they are super busy. The place can get noisy at times. Can get a little pricey, but not too bad. The place can get very busy, especially on the weekends, so reservations are highly recommended.Features: No covid - 19 practice anymoreVegetarian options: Descent amount of vegetarian options available.Parking: Free parking lot available.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible.

The service was fantastic. The waitresses and hosts were very kind, and they got us anything we needed. The food was alright, not bad but nothing special. Is it worth the price? Probably not, but I did enjoy it. Dessert was a little lackluster. Piece of brownie with whipped cream smeared on top. The drinks were phenomenal. Loved those. The atmosphere would have been nice if we weren't sat near two parties. We had a reservation for two to have a nice, quiet, special dinner. Well, being sat near two parties with 5-10 people in each, the quiet part was not happening. Lots of loud adults and children. Hard to hear each other. Wouldn't put two people next to big parties like that.

Best food and service in town- bar none!! Great food options served in a very traditional setting

The chicken parm was not like before, the breast was not sautéed ,had no cheese on top and had no taste. The bottle of wine was yet ok but not worth $37 dollars. Really dissatisfied. Meals were priced to high.

Used to have the BEST daiquiris. This time "sorry no daiquiris, we don't have a blender." What bar doesn't have a blender!!! Salad was wilted, lasagna was cold and the french bread was so small it fit in the palm of my hand. This place used to be top notch and our 'go to' for any special occasion. Well, not anymore. Something has definitely changed!! I always ended my meal with a pink squirrel but not this time. Was afraid I'd be served hard dipped ice cream instead of the traditional softserve. Sorry Cedar Falls Brown Bottle - you will not get our money again.

Best Italian cuisine in the Cedar Valley! Good selection of wines. Service is always great and the location and parking make it easy to navigate.

I've tried to like Brown Bottle, it was always highly regarded when I was growing up. We've eaten there twice since moving back to the Midwest, most recently with friends for a birthday celebration. My chicken was overcooked and the sauce burnt, my husband's chicken was undercooked. The salad (iceberg? really?) was brown, and the macaroni & cheese had a flavor but cheese wasn't it.For $65 before tip---no alcohol--I expected better food. It is way overpriced for the quality.

They always have good service. Today I enjoyed the Greek salad with chicken. My husband had the Dill butter pasta, which is always one of our favorites.

Our waitress was amazing. I wish I had her name, because she deserves recognition. The service, food and holiday drink was all amazing.

We love the Waterloo Brown Bottle but it was closed today. We decided to try the Cedar Falls restaurant since we were in the area. We did not have a reservation and it was a busy night there. We had no wait and were told to follow the hostess to get seated. Unfortunately, the only seating appeared to be up a flight of stairs. My husband and I are both in our 70's and I am scheduled to have a knee replacement in 2 months. He made it fine but I really struggled with the stairs. We didn't know about the stairs until we saw them and the hostess was already part way up. So I kept going. We were seated and our waiter was right there. Our salad was merely a bowl of iceberg lettuce with dressing. No tomato, onion or anything else with it. And we each got one piece of bruschetta bread that had been toasted sometime ago. It was soft in the middle and had no taste. Our lasagna was pretty good. Thankfully. With our order, we were each given 1 piece of garlic bread that was stale and also soggy. Husband's glass of wine was good.Worse part is that our server never asked if everything was all right. If we needed anything else, etc. He was polite but certainly not friendly. He wanted to clear the table off and get the money. The only bathroom was downstairs- wish I would have known that earlier- so we took turns using them before we left. We stood right next to the hostess stand with 2 young girls there chatting away. They didn't even ask us if we enjoyed our meals. It was a bad experience for 2 people who love Brown Bottle. I can guarantee we will never drive that far again unless we know that the Waterloo Brown Bottle is open. I hope this is helpful for any one choosing between the two places.

First time here, won't be the last. Food was great, I had the Seafood Lasagna, and my wife had the seasonal Butternut Squash Lasagna Special. We had the seasonal Pumpkin Bars for desert. Staff was very attentive and friendly/helpful. The restaurant as a whole was very clean, warm, & inviting. Restrooms were exceptionally clean as well. Our server Mitchell was awesome!!! Loved everything about our experience here, we'll definitely be back.Parking: Ample parking both above and below the restaurant (lower level). Very accessible.Wheelchair accessibility: Main entrance is level with the parking lot. Entrance is very accessible. Well laid out. Minimal obstacles or barriers. Staff is very attentive and accommodating to any needs or requests. Restrooms are very accessible.
