This is the closest Mexican restaurant to us and we’ve been dying to go! Unfortunately we will not be back. The salsa had a weird after taste. Queso tasted good, but it was only slightly warmed. Found multiple bones in my chicken enchiladas, all beans lacked any salt or flavor. Fajitas lacked major flavor. I was surprised the green sauce and red sauce tasted decent. We were charged 3$ for a kiddos drink! I’ve never been to a restaurant and ordered off the child’s menu, not having the drink be included. I opted for green sauce instead of red on my enchiladas, they charged 2$ extra for simply changing sauces. (And wasn’t told ahead of time) We asked for only cheese instead of the other sides for fajitas and got charged 2.50$ then an extra 3.99% because we used our card! ? after the 7.50$ of random charges, on top of food that even our dog wouldn’t eat and bones throughout the whole enchiladas, we got an additional charge from that. Diana was our waitress and she was kind. We wouldn’t have come back because of the food anyway, but the extra charges just left an even worse taste in our mouths. Oh fajitas came out sizzling with some nice cold canned pineapple on top too! Lol I love pineapple, but on fajitas? This place is seriously the worst. So gross.

When asked to speak to a manager, I was told he wasn’t there and she didn’t know when he would be back.

If I could give these guys a 10 star review, I would. They were extremely friendly with excellent customer service. The food was incredible also. Probably the best meal I have had in about 20 years.

Hands down or some would say hats off to this Mexican Restaurant! I love eating here! I’d say one of Blackhawk Counties finest places to eat! Their service has always been respectable and informative! They don’t seem to miss a beat! The food is always delicious, hot , and serving size that agrees with my stomach!
Now the drinks… that you may need to watch out for! Try their blue margarita on the rocks and bet just one will have you walking a little side ways! Lol

My #1 complaint isn’t about the restaurant but if the location and parking lot as on a regular day there’s hardly any available parking (and it’s not from folks being in the restaurant it’s from others going into the other buildings that make up the small strip mall area where the restaurant is located).My #1 Mexican restaurant in the area is the original Chilito’s in Waterloo which this #2 location is based on. It’s the same menu and the food is pretty close to the Waterloo location.Today my food was great along with the service. The only knock I’ve got from today’s experience is the salsa was warm…not spicy warm but temperature warm (as in warmer than room temperature). Maybe it was a fresh batch or something…tasted fine. At the Waterloo location it’s always cool or cold.I tried the chipotle chicken burrito today which is new for me as normally I get a regular burrito or the Macho Burrito which has rice & beans packed into it and it was great. Also the other burrito dishes are also great which I’ve had at both this location and the other.The best part about the dining experience is the chips which appear homemade and are usually fresh and crispy. They also have a person dedicated to refilling the chips and salsa which is awesome (but a lot better when the salsa is cool/cold).Bottom line is you really can’t go wrong at either location, but if you want guaranteed parking I’d go to the Waterloo one (which I’ve been known to do a few times due to parking being an issue here).

Parking: Parking is shared with the other strip mall buildings and is tough at lunch or even 11AM when they open to find parking due to everyone being on the other buildings.

Everything there is delicious!! No hidden surprising charges, great service!! We are from Texas and KNOW good food. We won’t be going anywhere, but there for Mexican cuisine from now on. Their margarita special is great with super delicious margaritas too!! My whole family always leaves there happy!
