I had an amazing first experience with a group of friend! We got a large variety of dumplings to share (Pork-Kale-Corn, Pierogi, Mongolian Beef, Five Cheese, & Crab Rangoon) and I highly appreciated that there were three vegetarian and two vegan options available. The food was delicious and true to descriptions! I would highly recommend! Pictured is the Crispy Milk Cube dessert that had a wonderfully crisp outside with a creamy center.

The dumplings were delicious, especially the chicken kimchi dumpling. the perfect amount of heat and fabulous flavor. we also shared a noodle bowl with pork belly, I don't remember its name but I remember the flavor and it was also magnificent.

I can’t believe we waited so long to visit this place….loved everything about it: the fabulous dumplings, sauces, atmosphere and staff. And Happy Hour special can’t be beat!

I was not impressed. Our orders came out one by one and our order of fries were delivered extremely late. So late they were delivered while we paid for our food. Not once were we offered an apology. There were only 3 or 4 tables of clients so it’s not like the kitchen was backed up. The food wasn’t special, it was OK if you enjoy fried food. I think I would prefer this food after midnight on a weekend, not lunch or dinner.

Really wanted to like the food here because I'm a huge dumpling fan. We ordered a whole spread to try a variety (Mongolian Beef, Mac N' Cheese, Crab Rangoon, Taco, Pierogies) but they were all kind of flavorless. The service was awesome and it all came out really fast, but the food quality just didn't seem worth the money. The dessert was the best part but it still needed something more.

The Dong Po Pork was VERY good! The texture scared me at first but it's delicious! The pork and sauerkraut dumplings were pretty good as well as the mac n cheese dumplings. The Mongolian beef dumplings were not for us. Kind of had a bean texture. Nice environment and friendly staff.

I travel for work and am in town about once a month - very excited to find a new dining option within walking (stumbling) distance of my hotel! I know absolutely nothing about dumplings so thankfully Daniel was behind the bar with some helpful suggestions.I went rogue and ordered the Spicy Tuna (pictured) first which were absolutely delicious on their own, even better when dipped in the accompanying sauce. For my second round I relied on Daniel's expertise and went for the Pierogi - excellent pan fried! Great flavor with the right amount of potato to fill them up but not make you feel overstuffed. As not a beer drinker I was delighted to find cocktail options on the menu at an establishment with "taphouse" right in the name, a couple whiskey sours were the perfect complement to my meal. I love the option to order from the online menu if feeling less than social, or directly with the staff, or any combination there of.I felt perfectly comfortable as a woman traveling alone and would not hesitate to bring my family here. Very fun, comfortable atmosphere. I will definitely be back!

Great service, great beer and extraordinary food! It’s a fun place. Loved the chicken kimchi dumplings and the bulgogi were tremendous!! I’m pretty sure they hand make your dumplings to order. Recommend and we will be back.

The food was absolutely delicious and it was a very relaxed atmosphere over the lunch hour. We can’t wait to go back and try more.

Upon our arrival, we were pleased that the business had their own parking lot and that we didn’t need to pay for parking.Going in, it was a pleasant atmosphere. Sitting down was different, as my chair leaned all the way back to where I almost fell out of it. Apparently the chair was not supposed to do that, and the waitress helped me with a new chair. The music was hit and miss, playing newer music. Some music was pleasant, other music was annoying. The chairs weren’t the most comfortable, and neither were the tables.I asked for a beer menu, and I was very happy to see the cheap prices for their beer on tap. Toppling Goliath is one of the top breweries IN THE WORLD. And a 20 oz Dorothy’s for $6 is not beatable. $5 for a 16 oz Pseudo Sue or Dorothy’s is also not beatable. My husband ordered a rice bowl and I ordered pork, corn, and kale dumplings.Upon unraveling our silverware from the napkins, we were pleased to find beautiful chopsticks to enjoy our meal with. Our food was delivered extremely fast. My husband loved his rice bowl, however, my deep fried dumplings were cold in the middle.I informed our waitress who gladly brought the dish back to the kitchen and brought us new dumplings to eat. However, the new dumplings were arguably even COLDER in the middle than the last ones. The waitress took them back again and recommended to pan fry them instead of deep frying them.I accepted, and she brought back warmer dumplings. The dumplings themselves were very watery and do not have a lot of flavor. The sauce was almost tasteless.I do not think they are worth the price, however our waitress gave us a discounted price for the inconvenience. If I could offer some constructive criticism, I would suggest creating a better menu, one with appetizers.Beer and something like fried cheese curds or other “bar food” would go a long way.The dumplings could be improved with better sauces. The dumplings, I’m sorry, are not worth more than $1 a piece. Create a better menu, and I feel more people would enjoy themselves. Some things going for it: the restaurant has A LOT of potential. The waitresses are extremely nice, and the beer menu is off the charts. If I come back, it will be for the beer and not for the dumplings. And I apparently need to try their fries.Good luck, and I hope my review will be considered!Sincerely,Kelby

Very satisfied with the service their fries are crack, The dumpling selection is great and plenty. And here are some pictures of their Lego play area cause I don’t think there are any on the Google review corner so far.

Fun new place in downtown Cedar Falls. We enjoyed the dumplings and a nice selection of craft beer. The place is spacious but not overwhelmingly large. There are some entertainment options like a big Lego area for kids as well as some mini basketball games too. Service was speedy and pleasant. And the overall cost was reasonable. David’s will be a new entry in our regular rotation of local spots!

Iowans are easy to please. Mediocre is considered “just fine” because it’s what we’re given all the time. David’s TnD is a confusing place. My first impression was a Chuck E Cheese for the sophisticated Iowa proud crowd. A smart choice was made by partnering with TG out of Decorah IA. Their award winning beers can often feel like a meal themselves and with a couple can make everything about right. “Family friendly” is a term that will soon go away in the restaurant business as we learn this pandemic isn’t going away. You may do all your ordering from your “device” to help keep the social interaction minimal but with kids running around doing what kids do that point is pretty much mute. I’m all for this way of ordering but it seemed to confuse the staff at times as they tried to find which order went to what phone. On our visit an ordered sauce wasn’t delivered and it was awkward having them not believe us (especially here in Iowa) and have to go ask the computer if this was true. I liked my dumplings and I’ll be back to try more but probably during school hours for a more adult like experience. David’s Taphouse & Dumplings is basically a Toppling Goliath beer hall with dumplings as appetizers that you enjoy in a 5th grade classroom. It may not be for everyone but I’m sure they’ll find their crowd. The Cedar Valley has been silently screaming for more diverse food options and it’s refreshing to see someone giving it a shot.
