Good food, fun place to eat. Used to go with my grandpa almost 30 years ago. Only complaint is the cook burnt food twice during my visit this last time, Summer 2025.

Going here is always a treat for me. I love the seating, the old pictures, and being able to watch the employees. They actually wash dishes by hand! Make real pies (not boxed). Give you large portions of food. Like the fries are an order for one here, but in another cafe it would be the size of two orders. I always get the same thing. A maid-rite and fries. They do however have other options. When ordering a shake you always end up with extra that won’t fit in the glass and they bring you the stainless steal still cup they make it in. So yummy! Thank you to the employees for your great service, friendly smiles and conversations!

Beefy nostalgia on a bun! Old school lunch counter to sit at gives the place an retro vibe. We stopped for breakfast and found out the whole menu is available at breakfast. Oliver took our orders, kept up with coffee refills and even had a few laughs with us. Catch this place for breakfast or lunch, as they close at 3 pm.

There aren't enough places like this left! I had to travel to Iowa every other week for 6 months on business and this was my go to spot for lunch. I tried most of the menu and was never disappointed. I wish there was a Maid-Rite back home. Great owner and fantastic staff I had great food and conversation. I highly recommend this place and save room for dessert!

My maidrite was wonderful. We got there at 2:30 not realizing until we were done eating the sign said carryout only after 2:30. They graciously let us eat there and we're extremely friendly.
