Three of us went to Patton for dinner last night, and the food was spot on. For starters, we ordered the cheese curds, which were so good with the tempura batter that made them lighter; and the Bao Buns were perfectly steamed and soft and the filling was out of this world. I’m definitely ordering them again.
For our entrees, the tuna poke bowl tasted fresh, including the tuna; the summer vegetable risotto was creamy and delicious, including the signature salad whose ingredients were fresh, garnishes were generous, and vinaigrette was perfect; and the General Patton chicken did not disappoint and I’m told is the best in town, which is surprising for a diner-style restaurant.
We shared the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert, which was more cold and firm than a typical cheesecake and had a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top with a brown sugar-type crust. It was fantastic, and we all devoured it.
And our bar drinks were mixed perfectly as well.
Our server was super friendly and attentive.
Patton is becoming our favorite place to eat in Cedar Falls.

It was fairly busy on Saturday afternoon. Party of 3 and we were seated promptly. Sevice was very good and the food was very good as well. Will definitely go back at some point.

3rd time in last year we have eaten breakfast there while in Cedar Falls. It was 100% perfect just like the last 2 stops. Will go back as it is the best in the area for food, service, location, etc. I would rate it higher but 5 stars is the max.

My first visit to Patton. The food was good and the interior is retro and cozy. However the biggest turnoff is that we heard the head cook (I assume) bossing and yelling at the others in the kitchen constantly. Note that this is a diner style restaurant so the kitchen is open to the rest of the restaurant. He micro-managed them the entire time. It was a huge dissapointment and affected our experience negatively.

We came here like 5 times about a year ago and everything was amazing. We have been back twice now and the food is some of the worst food I’ve had in a restaurant ever. First meal I got was so salty the only thing I could taste was straight salt. The next I got the steak frites which was my favorite previously and asked for medium rare. It wasn’t even rare. And they have a head chief reviewing these before they come out and cutting them open - absolute joke something like that ever hits the table. Will never come back. Great vibes - awful food now.

My wife and I loved this restaurant. It was always our go to restaurant. With that being said, we had a horrible experience tonight. We ordered cheese curds, risotto, salad, and the cubano (My favorite). The salad tonight had too much vinegar, and the tomatoes tasted sour. The cheese curds were over salted and not fully cooked. We then waited over an hour for our entrees. We seen my cubano sit for over 15 mins and nothing about my wife's meal. We could hear and see the chef arguing with the line cooks. We then seen the staff making food for each other when my sandwich just sat on the counter!
When the waitress came by to ask if we wanted another drink I just asked for the check and we left without getting our entrees. Good drinks though.

Only 2 customers and 3 servers standing around talking to each other while we have our menus on the edge of the table just waiting for her to take our order, then she took away the menu so I couldn’t look for dessert and brought the check before offering dessert, so I didn’t get any dessert! I want my dessert

Amazing!! I flew in from Ohio and this diner was suggested. So happy I went. Food was great. Ben, one of the managers, was very accommodating and friendly. Highly reccomend!
Came in on a work trip, this place did not disappoint! The ambiance and vibes were spot on. The front of house GM Ben was fantastic as well as our server Cole. 10/10 I will be bringing my friends to visit.

I highly recommend this place! The interior is so gorgeous, and the service is great! Lex was amazing. We got the potstickers as an appetizer and they were incredible. I also got a pink lemonade, which was fresh and so yummy. Then I got the smash burger with cottage cheese and it did not disappoint! Will definitely be coming back.

Stopped in after a day riding on Ragbrai...staff was quick, efficient, and very nice! The food was AMAZING! I was born and raised in Miami and can honestly say that their Cubano was better that 90% of the sandwiches you can get in Florida! Definitely recommend!
The atmosphere was perfectly retro and they had a lot of great pieces on the wall to check out some racing history
