All the food was cold except the eggs which were made to order. Very disappointing it looked so inviting. The staff were very nice but didn’t make up for the food

The food was very good-but this is not “Midwest diner” prices. Expect a dent in your wallet if you order a drink. I’ve gone twice-my pie and burger were quite good. Can’t say that about the service. Our server took our order and never came back. The hostess brought our food then stood at the counter and chatted while after quite some time we went and got our own bill. This lack of service seemed to happen on both visits. Unfortunately this will keep me from coming back. Cute idea-nice atmosphere.

Wish I had better things to say about this place other than the staff was top-notch, and so was the chocolate cake.
The Hot Beef was absolutely horrible and inedible. It was luke warm. The bread was hard as a brick, the chunks of beef were tough and fatty, and the gravy was something else, too.
The General Patton Chicken wasn't much better. The chicken was overcooked, and some of it was deep fried without any breading. The accompanying rice was completely inedible. Don't know how they made or it what they seasoned it with, but it was NASTY! They should serve it with fried rice.
The decor of the restaurant needs updated terribly.
My advice... go to Highway 63 Diner or J's instead, but don't get your hopes up if you choose to eat here.
Parking: Parking in downtown Cedar Falls sucks. Plain and simple.

They have a lot of seats packed in so you might be sitting pretty close to another group and it's a little loud in there but you can still have a conversation with a group.
Got the diner fries and would recommend to all. The smash burger was delicious but the smashed potatoes and gravy did not pair well, both were very good! The Korean chicken with Buffalo sauce had a fun spicy tang that came late.

It blew my mind that one tiny scrambles egg and one small silver dollar sized pancake was just over $9!!!!! What?!?!? Unfortunately, this place is too expensive and portions are way too small. Seriously, the food I ate was worth $1.50. And the $9 was before tip! Yikes.

We had such a great experience at Pattons Diner! We started with the Brussels and Crab Cakes for appetizers, and they were absolutely delicious and light, so we didn’t get too full before our entrees came out. For the main course, we ordered the Salmon Risotto and The General Patton Chicken, and both were a solid 10/10. The service was awesome and the atmosphere was great! Highly recommended!
We also started the night with their espresso martinis— SO good!
