Three of us went to Patton for dinner last night, and the food was spot on. For starters, we ordered the cheese curds, which were so good with the tempura batter that made them lighter; and the Bao Buns were perfectly steamed and soft and the filling was out of this world. I’m definitely ordering them again.
For our entrees, the tuna poke bowl tasted fresh, including the tuna; the summer vegetable risotto was creamy and delicious, including the signature salad whose ingredients...
3rd time in last year we have eaten breakfast there while in Cedar Falls. It was 100% perfect just like the last 2 stops. Will go back as it is the best in the area for food, service, location, etc. I would rate it higher but 5 stars is the max.
My first visit to Patton. The food was good and the interior is retro and cozy. However the biggest turnoff is that we heard the head cook (I assume) bossing and yelling at the others in the kitchen constantly. Note that this is a diner style restaurant so the kitchen is open to the rest of the restaurant. He micro-managed them the entire time. It was a huge dissapointment and affected our experience negatively.
