Bandana's Bar-B-Q Cedar Rapids IA

I tried to go in there on a Monday night before 6 pm. was told they are out of meat!! How does a restaurant run out of meat that early in the evening? This was the second time this has happened. Don't you know how to plan for the amount you need? Will not go back there again. To me that is just poor management.

Came in to dine in with 2 others. After waiting for a while to be seated since the front counter did not have a hostess, I decided to walk in through the restaurant to see if I can get the attention of a staff to sit us down..while doing so and before as well, three staff members saw us standing there ; but completely ignored me and one decided to go flip a table that was dirty right in front of me without even acknowledging us. while flipping the table, she decides to walk away for a second, then comes back to finish flipping the table instead of sitting us. With all pride I had to walk out because they clearly gave me the message that they only Cater to certain individuals. Now I know next time i am visiting Iowa again.

Went to Cedar Rapids to visit my Great Aunt for her 83rd birthday from Charleston, SC and she has been wanting to go by here for the longest time and we went for dinner the night we flew in! Loved it so much that we went back for lunch the day we were flying out! I had the brisket dinner with baked potato and that thing was soooooo good!
The brisket was cooked perfectly, so tender and I was pleasantly surprised. My Great Aunt enjoyed her meal so much, she ate every last bite! She had the loaded baker potato, and my mom had the same, my aunt had the Buster Chicken, and everyone loved the food!
The staff was super friendly, very attentive both times we went! Loved it! Told my Great Aunt I can't wait to visit her again and carry her back there! Absolutely could see eating there a couple times a week and never getting tired of it, tasted so good!
There are some BBQ places that I have visited in the south and they had dry brisket that just was ok, but not something to want to go back for like Bandana's is! They were spot on, 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Great food, good sausage portions too, had the three meat combo platter with ribs and sausage and dark meat chicken, with BBQ beans and mac & cheese for sides. all good size portions, all tasted good ? definitely a good BBQ place overall, though I haven’t tried others in the city.

delicious! only thing is, we got maybe 10 pieces of okra for $4. lol

Feels very friendly to sit down and drink a glass of tea with some barbecue I like the place staff is always very friendly ready to have a conversation with you

We love Bandanas! We live in Waterloo and eagerly make the drive for their smoked turkey, our favorite. I've had other menu items as well and have always been happy with my choices. Looking forward to meeting friends there tonight!! I'll be thinking about smoked turkey all day.
