Service: dramatically bad. We were ignored until one of us went to the host stand and said "um....could someone please....?" We waited over an hour for our meal (we were a party of two), which we were told was because "one of the burners broke." I dunno, I've used a lot of gas stoves in my life—and worked in a lot of commercial kitchens—and one burner down isn't going to bring the whole operation to a standstill, especially not when you are the only table. Need salt and pepper? Get it yourself from the servers station. Want dessert? Nope, the server will be giving you your check before you've finished your entree. Want someone to take your credit card after the ordeal is over? Take it up to the bar yourself. Setting: an inspired approach to adaptive reuse, architecturally speaking. But the ear-splitting sound system blaring 80s hits and large-screen TVs make this "upscale, stylish eatery" nothing more than a sports bar with nifty floors. And then—oh God, who knew?— the live music started. We were in hell. Food: delicious! But by the time it arrived I would have been happier eating a greasy grilled cheese at Denny's. I so wanted to love this place, mostly because "The Black Sheep Social Club" is a hilarious, delightfully cinematic name for a restaurant. But this was one of those experiences where the few bad reviews on Trip Advisor should have been enough to forewarn us.

I visit this coffee shop downtown repeatedly because their staff are consistently genuinely kind and helpful. The only thing I'd change is to have an organic decaf option. Great job, BSB!Dietary restrictions: I haven't seen dairy-free pastry options but I also dont expect that when the co. is owned by Starbucks. I choose coconut milk for my drink. I'm grateful for that option!

Had booked a party room, confirmed it the night before and when we got there it was given to a different party. Food was decent but overpriced.

Decor & repurposed furniture are very cool! Fireplace seating looks like the perfect spot to share in a modern converted space. And the food, excellent! The brussels were fantastic. The mimosa’s fun and the burger tastey.

This is a very trendy and nicely designed bar and restaurant. I love seeing an old building repurposed. However, hard surfaces plus throbbing music make for very loud and annoying ambiance. We came for midweek lunch. Service was lacking. Drinks took almost half an hour, food 70 minutes from the time we sat down and it wasn’t worth waiting for. My sandwich was cold, the cheese had settled into a wrinkled hard glob. The limp pickle looked as if someone had taken a bit out of it. When I mentioned that to the waiter, he said ‘absolutely not.’ A new pickle or a sorry would have been more appropriate.

Enjoyed our meal 3 New Yorks and 1 Chicken Breast. All were good. Enjoyed the building more as a kid growing up in CR, when my father got home from WW11 he went to work for Bud Blaul"s Companies. I remember going do there on weekends and find the key with the red ribbon and Mr. Blaul would give you a quarter. Enjoyed!

It is centrally located which is convenient when going to Alliant center. Great atmosphere and interior. Decor. Industrial lighting with warm brick walls. Friendly staff. The Brussel sprouts appetizer is divine.

The chicken salad sandwich is the best I have ever had. Everyone who has tried it, loves it and talks about it.

We were in town for 2 nights with 1 dinner during our stay. I picked this place based on reviews and the menu. We got there around 6:30 and able to get seats at the bar. Started with a cocktail. I had the signature Manhattan with Whistle Pig and Antica. I thought it was a bit pricey at $25. It was a good drink and prepared professionally. We started with the lamb meatballs and duck fat fries. Could have chosen better. 3 meatballs, on the dry side and sauce was limited. I was excited for the fries, which was a large portion. The problem was the toppings which included cheese which when melted created this melted cheese glob in the middle of the fries making it difficult to pull the fires apart. And they weren’t as crispy as I would have liked. Good duck fries don’t need a bunch of toppings. Hot, crispy with a good dipping sauce or 2 is all that is needed. I went with the pork chop which was good. It was a “porterhouse cut”. A little on the thin side. And was only $19. The peach BBQ sauce was ok, mildly spicy. The consistency was little odd and it had trouble sticking or staying on the pork chop. I order the orzo risotto as a side knowing it was a pasta “risotto” and not rice. The only issue was it was very under seasoned. Had a glass of wine with the entree. One comment on the menu as we were discussing options was an 18oz porterhouse that I thought was a ridiculous option at $52. 18oz isn’t very much meat with a few ounces being the bone taking away from that. The NY strip was a reasonable $26. All the servers we interacted with were very polite and professional. The atmosphere was pretty good it was just the food that was just ok.

This place sets the bar for what other coffee shops should aspire to be. Their beverages and Café items are delicious.More importantly is the staff. They make you feel welcomed and want to serve.
