Capo Italian Beef

Their website and Google maps said they were open at 10am. I got there at 10:25 and one person was behind the counter washing dishes. I stood there for more than 5 minutes and was never greeted or acknowledged even though I made eye contact. There was a line forming behind me so I decided to come back later and as soon as I walked away they greeted the person behind me. I came back later after making a loop of NewBo and was still ignored. I had to yell at the person if they were open and was told to come back later. Really wanted to try this food but the service is terrible and I will never come back.

The Italian beef sandwich I ate 45 minutes ago was the greatest sandwich of my life. I have been eating sandwiches for approximately 38 years. I've probably eaten like one hundred thousand sandwiches or something. The Italian beef here is the best one. The King of the sandwich kingdom. The lord of the sandwich realm. I can't stop thinking about this sandwich.

Everyone that knows me, knows how obsessed with Italian Beef I am. It is SO HARD to find good Italian beef in iowa. Capo Italian Beef exceeded my expectations. Sooo good!! 🥰

Stopped at New Bo for something to eat and decided on this booth. I ordered the Italian Beef with Hot Peppers and juice on the side since I was eating in my car. It was hands down the best I have had in Cedar Rapids. I would put it up against a couple places I go to in Chicago. Full of beef and very filling and was $11 after tip. Well Done I will be back!

I decided to try my luck at Capo Italian Beef for a meal at NewBo. I heard the Chicago Dog had been selling well today, so I got it in a combo with some fries.The hot dog took a while to prep but it came in a decent amounts of time with all the trimmings (tomato, pickle spear, peppers, diced onions, and green relish).The hot dog was pretty filling but kind of on the lukewarm side. Had it been cooked more, it would have been better. The toppings were fresh but kind of difficult to eat without making a mess.That said, the fries were pretty tasty. Crispy and well-seasoned. They didn’t need much in the ways of condiments.I think Capo could do better on their hot dogs. If they do, they’d get more customers coming back. Next time I go, I’ll grab an Italian Beef Sandwich.

Parking: The parking is free but there weren’t many spaces available when we got there. Even near the end of the day, it was busy.
