We have found our new favorite spot for vegan pizza in Cedar Rapids. After eating here, we couldn't understand why there weren't more reviews. First, no upcharge for vegan selections. Beyond Meat and vegan cheese, Veganaise, were products we saw being used for our pizza. This place is spotless, and we felt like we were walking into someone's home for dinner—it had such a cozy and clean vibe. Water is served in Mason jars, and there is also a wine and beer selection. We loved the retro vibe of the tables. Each table has cute little salt and pepper shakers and a small lamp, which enhance the cozy vibes. We ordered the cheeseburger deep-dish pizza, possibly our new pizza in Iowa. The crust is not too thick and reheats nicely. The garlic cheesebread is very good and has a healthy portion. The dipping sauce is served in a coffee mug. The bathrooms are spotless, and I enjoyed the more organic hand soap (Avalon). Excellent experience. We will take a pizza to go anytime we pass through Cedar Rapids from Minnesota. Upon paying for your order, you get a piece of hubba bubba bubblegum.
AMAZING Vegan Options for Pizza, Calzones, and apps. They let me customize everything and it was fantastic. I couldn't recommend this place more.

When the food is right, this is perhaps better than any Chicago pizza I’ve ever had. I am a huge fan of pizza pools, give me your sauces, your meats, your tired tropes, and I shall provide the promised pan. The thing is, Cappy’s is a 50% hit, and a 50% miss, especially in the takeaway market. For me it is 20 minutes to pick up a pizza, and 40 minute bake at high pizza pie o’clock. This isn’t an issue, except if I want dinner in less than an hour, which fine, I don’t exactly need.
So if the food is delicious, and my timing isn’t the issue, what is? Occasionally I get home, and find a pan inside the box, they usually appreciate when I return it. This makes the crust soggy though, which means my pool doesn’t hold as well. Occasionally I get home, and find instead of basil, I have bacon on my pizza. I can make that work, though frankly I’d rather just have my basil.
Does this prevent me from returning? It hasn’t yet. I’m serious when I say I enjoy a good pizza pool, and Cappy’s is the best in the area, even with the occasional mistake. If you don’t have complicated orders like large sausage, basil, and green pepper as a typical order, it’s probably fine. The three toppings has always been my order of choice with them, it was after the meatball, basil and garlic suggestion I had on a date there once from the server. The date went well, maybe that influenced the decision, or maybe the rule of threes is more accurate than I realize. I highly suggest for fellow pizza pool enjoyers, try this tasty option twice before making any negative judgements, problems have never struck twice in a row.
Happy swimming!

Great pizza with amazing crust. Service was friendly, excellent, and fast. Not the biggest dining area, but eclectic decor more than makes up it.

Worst pizza I've had in years. Way over cooked very little cheese or sauce looked and tasted like cardboard crust was hard and had way to much flour under it. Will not be back!!

Was very disappointed. Very little cheese, sparse toppings and sauce. Was so overcooked hardly edible. Will not go back. The area has many other great pizza places
First time trying this, was excited. Placed an order for 2 pizzas and an order of bread sticks at 5. Told it'd be ready at 6.
Got there at 6:03, was busy, waited a few minutes while it looked like some dishes were being put away, but they noticed me and I paid. They needed a few more minutes.
I stepped to the waiting bench at the front where I just saw the waitress take somebody else's carry out pizza.
10 min go by, I see them give a pizza out to somebody who came in after me, that person leaves. I go check on my order, that person comes back saying it's the wrong pizza and hands it back to them.
They then try giving me that pizza that I watched this dude pick up and show to them.. I ask if thats what they're doing, giving me the pizza they incorrectly sent out and the waitress said "yeah that might be the pizza he just brought back to us."
Disgusting, this was a horrible, dishonest experience. Could have told me "sorry we screwed up and we're remaking it" and I'd have probably understood. Ended up getting a refund and going somewhere else.

Super friendly, old towne vibe with good beers . Happy to see some CC love too. Definitely will be back. The pizza hit the spot with just the right balance of all ingredients. Cheesecake was a highlight.

1st 2 times we got pizza it was awesome. 3rd time was not a charm. Pizza lacked taste, overcooked and definitely not worth $23. Could have gotten Pizza Hut and been better off. Probably will in the future

Chicago pizza is amazing. Hands down better the other locals. The crust has the permit amount of cornmeal. Chunks of tomatoes on top.But easy to pick out. This is the place for a good Chicago able pizza

Nice little local place with a laid back vibe. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Small salads are an absolute steal. $6 Caesar is enough salad for 3-4 people and delicious. Dressing on the greek salad is amazing. Only tried the NY style but crust was great. Next time in town will be back for sure.

Usually great. Went tonight but lights were off when the hours posted said they were open. Have they gone out of business?

We decided on a whim to give them a try and it was absolutely wonderful. This is the REAL stuff, a hearty dough, excellent toppings and cheese. This goes to the top of my pizza list.

Where else can you find that? It was great: choose your own veggies and toppings.
