Came into the restaurant, and they were very busy with no tables available. We could've waited an hour for a table, so instead we decided to order takeout. After ordering, 2 seats became available at the bar, so we decided to sit and eat there. The bar staff was friendly and attentive. The food was very good. We ordered the corn falafel, pepita "chorizo" tacos, and quesabarria tacos both with halvic. We also got churros for dessert. We'll definitely return when in Cedar Rapids again!

Lacayo is consistently a solid place to go for almost any food/ drink related event. Itc straddles a classy feel and a casual feel and pulls it off well.

Absolutely great atmosphere with a social feel , but with privacy.

Service and attention to detail on the food and especially drinks makes the prices easier to swallow.

Because they change their menu seasonally and based on what's available, they don't always hit on their dishes, but they make every effort to shoot for a great meal and presentation.

Ha, i was going to say the flavors are more Latin fusion with a sprinkle of Iowa then Mexican,, but they actually say the Latin part on their website! So there you go.

Guacamole is not the standard fare, but I think it is delicious and fresh.

Definitely worth a visit.

Five out of five stars, quite literally the best food I've ever had in Cedar Rapids! Everything is so fresh. Delicious!

We enjoyed an excellent, unique dinner here last night and can't wait to go back. They have something for everyone, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, etc. The vegan pate board they featured for vegan week was amazing. I will be thinking about that for a long time! Daniel and Armina do a great job and really care about their guest's experience. Highly recommend when you're tired of the usual Iowa menus served at other places. Cocktails looked fantastic but we had a delicious Tempranillo. This is a restaurant that deserves support from the community because it adds a different and delicious dining experience.

My dining experience was bad. My date and I went on a Friday night, it wasn't a full house, many open seats. After we ordered our first drink it took over a half an hour to get it. Our appetizer came out before our drink did. My date was happy with her meal however my meal was disappointing! I ordered the carnitas tacos with no onions. The tacos came with onions and the shell was soggy so when I went to pick up my taco the meat and everything else fell out of the bottom. Our service was disappointing- our server he didn't write down our order then messed it up. He didnt tell us his name or make convo, there was no dinning experience. During our meal asked us if we were done and wanted the check. After we paid he hand back our credit card and walked away, never said anything to us. Staff overall was unfriendly. This restaurant is extremely expensive for what you get. They charged me $28 for two tanqueray dirty martinis, there was nothing fancy about them. My two tiny tacos were.$16.50. I sure miss caucho. I will not be dining here again.

The menu changes often offering new Central and South American dishes. The cocktails and on tap margaritas are always of high quality. If you're a beer drinker try the Mexican ashtray, otherwise they have local beers on tap.

Holy wow! If y’all have not checked out this spot, you are severely missing out. We went on Wednesday, which is their weenies and martinis night! The green pepper sausage was homemade and amazing and a great start to our dinner. I had the Pollo entree and my husband had the Pescado. Both were truly delightful. Ended our meal with the Semifrio for dessert. That honey mousse was to die for. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Can’t wait to return!

Kid-friendliness: No issues with our 5 month old with us.

Very fresh ingredients and something for everyone! We loved the tacos and guacamole from Caucho and those are still there <3 My husband ordered the grilled cheese and said it was awesome. I ventured out and ordered the pescado (trout) and it was phenomenal. Delicious, beautifully plated and felt so healthy. Really thankful for an option that is good for me and fills me up without being a salad.

Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating

Parking: Parking lot behind restaurant and plenty of street parking down 3rd Street.

Very unique menu of amazingly prepared dishes. If you're looking for HUGE plates of food, this isn't your spot. If you're looking for reasonable portions of high quality food, you'll love this restaurant! Also, the drinks are super unique and excellently mixed!

Everything was very good. It was expensive. The food was great though. I had the Chepe de Camarones. I'm not sure the spelling of the first word in that name couldn't make it out on the menu. 2nd on left of the entre section. That was really good. Corn on the cob floating in the middle. Taste reminded me of a Cajun dish .
My friend had the El Bistec.
I had the dark and stormy drink that was good too.
Loved the spicy chocolate sauce for the churros. The semifrio had a fun flavor with the honey and lemon.
Great atmosphere. Great people. It's a great treat.
