Greg Stoll is the man when it comes to smoking meat and making sauces. This is hands down the best Brisket, Brisket Burger and Pulled Pork in town or anywhere. He has some, out of this world homemade BBQ sauces. His cloeslaw is yummy. If you haven't tried this place located in Newbo Market you are truly missing out.

This is absolutely crave-able! The best brisket and pulled pork I have ever had! Fork tender, perfectly smoked and seasoned crust on the brisket. Pulled pork that just melts in your mouth. Then the sauces, GOOD GRACIOUS!

Was looking for some pulled pork for our meal and ran across CR Midnight Smoker BBQ in some local searches. They didn't list BBQ for sale by weight on the website, but took a chance and stopped by after a Iowa women's basketball game. Sure enough, just meats was an option. We grabbed a half pound of pulled pork. The quality of the meat and flavor was outstanding. I agree with a previous review stating the pulled pork doesn't need sauce. Can't wait to return and try the brisket. Great BBQ in Cedar Rapids!

Wanted to try out something new (to us) while off on holiday. We couldn't which to have, so we agreed to split pulled pork and brisket sandwiches so we could each try. THE best brisket and pulled pork we'd ever had. Each sauce we tried was spot on delish. Lets not overlook the sides. The beans and slaw were slappin! Such a pleasant experience! Can't wait to go back!!
Came here for lunch today and I will say it’s some of the best restaurant BBQ I’ve had, they don’t skimp on the meat and their special BBQ sauces are a must try!

I did a quick Google search for BBQ in the area and found this gem. I do a lot of smoking meats myself, so I’m quite the critic when comes to smoked meats. I went for the ribs but much to my disappointment they were sold out (5:00). I asked how many racks of ribs they do for a Saturday and he told me 14, so if you want ribs I’m guessing be there by 2 or 3 pm. I ordered the 2 meat platter which came with a hearty helping of pulled pork and brisket. My disappointment soon turned into pure bliss. The brisket was tender, moist, flavorful and seasoned with just the right amount of rub. The pork was tender, moist, and like the brisket seasoned perfectly with rub to complement the smoke and meat but not overpower the savory flavor of the smoked meat. The homemade recipe used for the German style potato salad was delectable, not sweet and not salty, just right. The cole slaw was another home run. The pickled red onions were sweet and flavorful but not hot or spicy. I’m not a sweet pickle fan but the sweet bread and butter pickle chips were phenomenal. Lastly, the smoke master gives you a choice of 2 cups of your choice of bbq sauce to add to you meat if you chose. I chose the blueberry and it was so good, I only used a small amount of it and stuck the leftover sauce in the serving cup in my pocket to take home for another dish. The two meat platter is enough to feed two adults without question. I ate all of it because I was by myself and my wife had already eaten at home. That was probably my only poor decision of the night. Don’t second guess The Midnight Smoker, go get some now, you won’t regret it!

We have been wanting to try this hidden gem for a bit and today was the day. I ordered 1/2 brisket and a side of coleslaw. Both were fantastic. Great bark. Moist and flavorful. Coleslaw was creamy with a bit of tang. Owner suggested the handmade blueberry Chipotle BBQ sauce with the brisket. WOW!! I could bathe in it. . Wife had a simple pulled pork sandwich with the beans. She loved it. Piled high with pork and the beans were pit smoked and had chunks of meat in it. YUM. While waiting for the chef to hand slice my brisket he was very friendly and I really enjoyed the conversation with him. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a great experience!! Go check this place out now. It's inside the NewBo market downtown.

My fiance and I have eaten here on multiple occasions, and we have never been disappointed. Hopefully, they can continue expanding because the owners definately deserve it.
Just tried them tonight for the first time and we will definitely be back. The coleslaw is the perfect consistency and has great flavor. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and it had a generous amount of pork, I recommend putting a spoonful of the coleslaw on top. I can't say enough good things about the blueberry sauce. Can't wait to go back and get the brisket. Fantastic service and the prices are great! They earned our business for sure!

RUN don't walk RUN to get this BBQ. Best BBQ I have ever tasted!! The pulled pork was moist and flavorful. The sauce was just a bonus not a requirement. That is the sign of food BBQ. Both the slaw and potato salad were delicious!

It’s amazing! The blueberry sauce, always. The folks that run it are really friendly, engaging, and offer great service. The only time I was ever disappointed was because they had to close to move to the bigger location - that was more of a me problem though! ?I don’t have any photos because that would have delayed my eating. It’s so good!
